Rachel McAdams Remembers Mean Girls And Admits She Loves Playing The Villain In Marie Claire

Rachel McAdams covers Marie Claire June 2015.
We still can’t believe it’s been over 10 years since Mean Girls!
Rachel McAdams has kept a low-profile during most of the past decade, but she doesn’t appear to have aged much at all!

And anyway, she was 26 when she played the 16-year-old Regina George!
In the new issue of Marie Claire, the actress admits that she wanted to take some time away from stardom after the success of the teen film, as well as The Notebook and Wedding Crashers, saying:

“I had to kind of reassess and go, What did I want this [success] to be, and how did I expect it to look?”

Also, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she loves playing villains and not-so-nice girls, considering how well she took on the role of Regina:

“I prefer to be a villainess. There’s something a bit more delicious about their wickedness.”

Agreed!
The 36-year-old will once again explore her dark side as a rough-around-the-edges policewoman in HBO‘s second season of True Detective.
But until then she returns to her romantic comedy best in Cameron Crowe‘s Aloha, out at the end of May!
It’s good to have you back, Rach!
