Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter‘s estranged husband Matt has reportedly been charged with two felonies related to his arrest back in June.
According to TMZ, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office has officially charged Matt with felony domestic violence and false imprisonment, both stemming from his alleged treatment of the Bravo personality during an incident earlier this summer.

According to police docs obtained by the outlet, Matt is accused of having “inflicted corporal injury [on Gina] resulting in a traumatic condition.” He had initially been arrested only on charges relating to domestic violence, though, so it’s interesting to see the false imprisonment charge has been added more recently.
But good riddance. Throw the book at this man if all this is true.

According to court documents, Matt showed up at her OC home unannounced on June 22, at which point he and Gina got into an argument. The reality TV star claims he then choked her, hit her, dragged her through the house, threw her around, and threatened to kill her — all while the pair’s three young children were apparently asleep in their rooms.
Ugh. Disgusting.
Gina called the cops, according to The Blast, and the estranged husband was eventually picked up by Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies that night. Court docs indicate at the time of his arrest, Matt was “still very angry and blamed [Gina] for getting him arrested.” Classy…
He was eventually released at 1:00 a.m. the next morning, according to jail records, with his bail set at $0 — which seems pathetically insignificant considering the severity of the charges.
Two days after his arrest, in late June, the 35-year-old reality TV star filed a request for a protective order against him; Gina asked the court for an emergency hearing to address the allegations of domestic violence amid their ongoing divorce.

Now at least it appears Matt will have to face the scales of justice as he must defend himself against the two serious felony charges against him. The couple will be back in family court soon, too, as they are still duking it out over the terms of their divorce; their next date to hash that out in front of a judge is reportedly on October 10.
It’s a bad, bad end for a couple that met in college and had been together for 11 years — married for eight — with three children: sons Nicholas, 7, and Luca, 4, and daughter Sienna, 5.
