Robyn Vs. Robin: Will Rihanna Win This Legal Battle Against DC Comics? Get The Deets Here!

Rihanna is reportedly set to launch her own magazine using her birth name, Robyn Rihanna Fenty.
The songstress’s company submitted a trademark request for the name “Robyn” in June 2014 to provide “on-line non-downloadable general feature magazines.”

But DC Comics thinks that “Robyn” is too similar to Batman’s sidekick Robin, and filed a Notice of Opposition to the US Patent and Trademark Office last week!
The comic book company complained that RiRi’s magazine would be “identical and/or highly related” to DC existing trademarks, and it would probably cause confusion or deceive the public!
DC thinks that people will be “deceived into falsely believing” that there is a connection between the Good Girl Gone Bad and The Boy Wonder. Sounds a little batty to us!
We’re not sure if Rihanna will win this legal battle, but we think it’s safe to say she’ll be a Marvel fan from now on. LOLz!
