Lots of drama this weekend down in Miami at the Rolling Loud Music Festival!
Kodak Black and Lil Wayne both grabbed headlines with their actions down in Miami-Dade County this weekend, with one caught by cops and the other one avoiding them on principle, seriously altering the festival’s schedule and the musical acts that festival-goers got to see!

It all started with Kodak Black, who was grabbed by cops backstage before his scheduled performance was set to start on Saturday at the Miami show. Both local and federal law enforcement agents were waiting for him there, with Miami-Dade Police AND federal ATF agents armed with both state and federal warrants against the rapper.
Apparently, it all stems back to various firearm charges, according to a report out in TMZ. It’s unclear if he was actually armed at the time of his arrest, but Kodak Black WAS arrested on the spot and hauled off to jail before he could even perform. Oops!
He’s still in jail now, and will be there until he sees a Miami judge on the first day of the work week tomorrow. So much for Kodak Black enjoying the music festival this weekend!

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne straight up refused to perform at Rolling Loud this year, due to the fact that the police organizations overseeing security at the festival deemed it “mandatory” to check every artist that arrived on stadium grounds to perform. As Weezy noted in a series of tweets, he “will not ever settle for being policed to do my job,” which is a very good point about civil liberties!
Good for him!! Say what you want about Tunechi’s past and all, but his point is a good one about being there to do a job… and doing nothing wrong to warrant a police search!!
Here’s the series of tweets in which Lil Wayne explains to his fans why he chose not to perform at the festival over the weekend (below):
and give you guys a great show. I will be at Story tonight for the afterparty and you kan katch me on tour with my bros Blink 182 this summer! ????????

Seriously admirable! Do you think his fans will have his back on it, though?!

Regardless, Rolling Loud obviously didn’t go quite as planned this year! Oops! With two major artists dropping out at the last minute, that’s not exactly ideal for fans there in Miami! We feel for ya!!!
