She’s been working 9 to 5 for decades — and now Lily Tomlin‘s hard work has finally paid off!
The Grace and Frankie star just received the SAG Life Achievement Award at the 2017 SAG Awards!!
On Sunday night, Tomlin’s 9 to 5 costar Dolly Parton presented the comedic legend with the award (Jane Fonda would have been there too if she wasn’t sick — but Dolly’s jokes made up for her absence!) honoring not only an accomplished career on screen, but also a lifetime of humanitarian work!
After a video tribute of Lily’s best roles — from her early work on network sketch comedy shows to movie roles in Nashville and I Heart Huckabees — the 77-year-old took the stage to collect her trophy.
Of course, the activist’s acceptance speech was nothing short of hilarious. Dispensing some sage wisdom to young actors, Tomlin advised to never leave the house when one’s drunk and beware of any enterprise that requires new clothing. (Which, for her, includes SAG! Ha!)
