Stars often times become synonymous with the characters they portray in TV and films, whether they like it or not!
Buffy, er, Sarah Michelle Gellar tells it like it is in a recent interview:
“Back then, if you’d called me Buffy I would probably have been really annoyed. Now, of course, I get it and I’m appreciative of it. But that’s something that comes with maturity, which most people don’t have when they’re 24 years old.”
Sarah Michelle has always been conscious of her public image and feels lucky to have gotten all of her partying out of the way early AND out of the public eye.
She recalls:
“When I was younger, I was very careful not to. . .I just didn’t want to be seen with a drink in my hand. People looked up to [Buffy the Vampire Slayer], and she was a character that girls respected.”
What a great role model!! Gellar, 34, now stars in Ringer and is enjoying raising a family with hubby Freddie Prinze Jr. and 2 year-old Charlotte.
