Selena Gomez Reveals Hailey Bieber Told Her She Was Receiving 'Death Threats' - And Begs Fans To Leave Her ALONE!

Selena Gomez is once again trying to shut down haters.

The Only Murders in the Building star took to her Instagram Story on Friday morning to encourage her followers to stop harassing Hailey Bieber amid the pair’s rumored feud. In a simple text-only message, she expressed:

“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negatively. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. “

Ugh. Death threats are NOT okay, no matter who’s side of the reported battle you’re on.

As Perezcious readers know, the model and actress have been pitted against each other for several years now because of their entanglements with Justin Bieber. Things took a turn for the worse earlier this year when fans accused the Rhode Skin founder and Kylie Jenner of mocking Selly G’s eyebrows. The Kardashians star quickly denied the speculation (and Selena even publicly praised her), but the drama continued as fans turned their attention to the Canadian pop star’s wife.

Unearthing a series of old videos and photos, internet sleuths argued Hailey has been bullying the Wizards of Waverly Place alum. This seems to be the biggest reason the fashionista is now receiving so much hate. While the Baby singer never fully acknowledged the controversy, he did throw some love his partner’s way on the ‘gram while continuing to support her in private, a source told ET earlier this month:

“Hailey and Justin are doing fine. They don’t want to continually deal with this repetitive, ongoing former relationship drama. They are just taking things day by day and don’t want this to be something that impacts them negatively. Justin knows that speaking publicly about it will only amplify the situation and bring more attention to it, so they have been supporting each other privately.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this approach has worked very well for them so far… which is why they had to call in backup!

While Selena was willing to speak up for Hailey, it sounds like she’s been spending the majority of her time trying to ignore the online controversy as much as possible. Another source told ET on Friday that the Kill Em with Kindness vocalist is prioritizing her mental health during this time in the spotlight, saying:

“Selena is staying in her lane and doing her own thing. She is dating and open to love. She is focused on maintaining her health, while still being attentive to her fans. Selena has been going to therapy, leaning on her friends and family, and keeping her circle close.”

As complicated as her feelings toward Hailey and Justin may be given their history, we’re glad to see she’s using her platform to shut down this negativity when needed.
