Emma Hernan is finally opening up about the rumors that she had an affair with a married man!
As Perezcious readers know, in the latest season of Selling Sunset out earlier this month, Emma’s co-star Nicole Young claimed she hooked up with a married man — which was later reported to be a “disgusting lie” Chrishell Stause threatened to quit over! Since the season premiered, tensions behind the scenes have gotten SO bad that Netflix canceled the reunion, giving Emma no chance to settle this once and for all on the show. But now, she’s finally telling her side of the story!

In a new E! News interview out late last week, Emma hit back at Nicole’s claims, saying:
“Oh, this evil human. I was completely blindsided by all of this. I had no idea that this was going on the entire season. I did not find this out till right before, when we got the screeners. It’s disgusting.”
To have NO clue this was coming out until days before the release of the season is insane! No wonder she is so pissed off!
She then called Nicole “a pathological liar and just an all-around disgusting human being” before denying the allegations, and arguing:
“There’s zero truth to this. I wasn’t given a voice to even defend this and show the receipts, show all the proof.”
Similar to Chrishell, Emma wants nothing to do with the other realtor! She told the outlet that she has “no desire to speak to that evil human” and would like an apology. She explained:
“You’re an awful human being, and you owe me a sincere apology. Let me just tell you that this isn’t over. This is so damaging. What she had has done to me. It’s disgusting. It is slander. It is defamation.”
Oof!
She’s heated!! We wonder if she’ll try to take legal action?? That “defamation” comment has us curious, after all! BTW, Emma noted that she has received support from a ton of cast members. That includes Chelsea Lazkani, Jason Oppenheim, and Brett Oppenheim, who have all reached out to her. Inneresting that she has both bosses on her side! Hmm…
In a second chat with Vulture on Friday, Emma doubled down on all this — while revealing why she was so “blindsided” by her storyline this season! Apparently, a TON was cut out! Emma shared:
“I filmed this season with the person that I was actually seeing at that time.”
She “was hesitant” to open up about her private life at the time, but decided to go ahead with it so fans could learn more about her. And yet despite getting out of her comfort zone, none of it was used! She mused:
“I don’t know why that didn’t make the show, but I filmed numerous scenes with the person I was seeing. I was vulnerable. That wasn’t easy for me, but I still did it because I thought that it would be good for the audience to see what I’m up to and who’s trying to date me and my back-and-forth thought process behind it.”
She confirmed that a bite mark on her neck, which was talked about during one episode, was “from the person that I was seeing.” So, why not just include this suitor in the show?? She thinks it didn’t fit the narrative the producers were trying to create:
“I didn’t really understand it, and I don’t know the thought process behind the producers who made that decision. I guess it was a better story line to not tell me what was going on behind my back, and that’s why that happened.”
As for the affair claims, the Oppenheim Group agent said “there’s zero truth to that rumor” and called Nicole “a sick individual.” She then shared what REALLY happened!!
Apparently, this incident dates back to a client she interacted with in 2021. She insisted “nothing happened” between them, detailing:
“I showed this person properties and then they actually asked to invest in my empanada company [Emma-Leigh & Co]. I said ‘no,’ and nothing happened. When I say nothing happened, I never touched this man, never kissed this man, never held hands with this man. I was completely blindsided by this whole situation, and I mean backstabbed by everyone involved, everyone that knew anything about this, because it’s completely slander, it’s defamation, it’s all of the things.”
She insisted “this wasn’t even a gray area” and that she was very clear about her boundaries with the client, continuing:
“I know there might’ve been a crush there, but there was nothing, not one single thing that transpired. That’s why it was so disheartening to see what Nicole said.”
So, where does she stand with the series?? She is now the THIRD cast member to threaten to quit (this after her pals Chrishell and Chelsea also made threats)! Emma acknowledged that she has “mixed emotions” about returning to the show. That said, she would have been willing to appear for a reunion, and she is frustrated it was axed! She added:
“I wasn’t given the opportunity to clear up my situation.”
Yeah, that is really unfortunate for her! At least on a reunion she could’ve finally hashed it out with Nicole and set the record straight. But now, who knows if she’ll ever get to address all this in the series?? If Nicole comes back next season, her bestie Chrishell might leave. Would Emma also walk away?? It seems possible. FWIW, per DailyMail.com, the show is set to start filming another season soon, but the cast list has not been determined. So, anything could happen at this point!
It really is a bummer that there’s no reunion this time. We know the drama would’ve been off the charts! Reactions, Perezcious readers?? Sound OFF (below)!
