Several Tips To Keep Your Pets Safe This Summer

As our friends at PETA told you yesterday, never, ever leave your pet inside a car. Even if the windows are rolled down and it’s breezy outside, never do it!

But overheating in a car isn’t the only threat to animals. Check out these other summer safety tips to keep in mind.

– Careful when leaving windows at home open during warm weather. Your pets can be curious risk falling out or jumping from the window.

– When it comes to your lawn, careful with any chemicals you might add to it, like fertilizers, pesticides and such. Some can be toxic to animals.

– Don├óΓé¼Γäót overgroom. A dog├óΓé¼Γäós coat helps protect it against the summer heat.

– When traveling on airplanes, careful with what type of pet you have. Turns out the U.S. Department of Transportation reports that shorter-faced dogs, like pugs and bulldogs, die during air transport at higher rates than other breeds.

– When going to the beach, always remember to take fresh drinking water for your pets, and if possible, a pet life-vest if you are taking them on a boat ride.

– And summer time means a lot of barbecuing outside. Careful not to feed your pets human food as some can be harmful, like chocolate or chicken bones.

Enjoy your summer with your safe and healthy pets!
