Apparently cheesecake can ruin careers…
Singer Carnie Wilson was dropped as spokesmodel for the healthy food service “The Fresh Diet” after rumors circulated that she cheated on the eating plan while promoting her own line of cheesecakes.
Carnie famously lost half of her body weight (150 lbs) after undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 1999. After a pregnancy she gained back some of the weight, topping out at 212.
When she signed on to represent “The Fresh Diet,” she agreed to stick to the diet and lose weight. Unfortunately, she only lost 19 lbs while spokesperson, and many believe that she cheated on the diet. Her image was even taken down from the website at one point because she was no longer considered a “successful case.”
Said Ezzy Duchman, publicist for The Fresh Diet:
“Carnie was promoting her cheesecakes while she was supposed to be only eating our three meals and two snacks a day. We had to take her off the corporate website because she has not been a successful case. She didn’t stick to it, and she didn’t lose weight. We had to cut ties with her.”
We hope she can find a new way to shed the pounds! Just because she’s no longer the spokesperson doesn’t mean she shouldn’t live a healthy life style!
