If this doesn’t make you think twice about dining during a pandemic, we don’t know what will!

Spencer Grammer, best known for her starring roles in Greek and Rick and Morty, was involved in a violent incident on Friday in New York City, and it sounds terrifying!

Per the New York Daily News, the Summer Smith voice actor — who is also the daughter of Frasier star Kelsey Grammer — was dining with a friend at The Black Ant in the East Village neighborhood when an intoxicated man walked up to the area, demanding to be served, creating a loud argument.

The actress and others apparently tried to step in and deescalate the situation, but the man turned violent and used an “unknown object” to slash her and her friend.

The 36-year-old shared with Us Weekly in a statement:

“My friend and I did what anyone else would do in the same situation. Several others, predominantly women, were also attempting to prevent the altercation from escalating.”

Spencer added (below):

“I sustained a laceration on my arm, and my friend was stabbed in the back, but thankfully he suffered no serious internal injuries. We expect to recover quickly. We want to thank the first responders and the staff at Bellevue Hospital, who provided us with excellent care. They fought an incredible battle this year. It was very moving for us to have the opportunity to thank them in person.”

Wow, wild!! We’re so glad it wasn’t more serious.

On Saturday, Detective Sophia Mason, a spokesperson for the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI), shared with Us Weekly:

“On Friday, July 24, 2020, at approximately 2310 hours in front of 60 2 Avenue (9 Precinct), an unknown male stuck a 36-year-old female in the right arm with an unknown object causing a laceration and swelling. A 31-year-old male was also struck in the lower back causing a laceration. The complainants were removed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.”

From the information reported, it doesn’t sound like this was a personal attack or any kind, just a wrong place, wrong time situation:

“The suspect fled the location on foot. He is described as a male black in his 30s, approximately 5’08” and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and black sandals. This remains an ongoing investigation.”

Sounds like a really scary experience. We’re so glad Spencer and her friend are okay!
