Everyone’s favorite fake conservative political pundit, Stephen Colbert, is feeling the love.
The Colbert Report won the highly regarded Peabody Award on Wednesday for excellence in television broadcasting.
The administrators of the award explained the reasons why Colbert won, saying:
“Launching his own SuperPAC as a satirical protest against megabucks politics, Colbert mixed cerebral comedy with inspired sight gags, interviews and preposterously funny monologues,”
Colbert launched the Colbert Super PAC as a form of satirical protest over excessive political spending. The political action committee has raised over 1.2 million dollars! That’s one good joke!
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in New York on May 21 hosted by Patrick Stewart.
