Storage Wars Star Darrell 'The Gambler' Sheets Looked Happy In Photo Taken Just Hours Before Death -- As Police Investigate Claims He Was Brutally Cyberbullied

More information is coming out about the tragic death of Darrell Sheets.

As we previously reported, the Storage Wars star sadly was confirmed dead early Wednesday morning after a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was found in his Arizona home after someone called and reported a deceased person. Police couldn’t do anything to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Heartbreaking.

Just hours before “The Gambler” was found dead, he appeared in a photo with a fan at his Havasu Show Me Your Junk antique store. In the pic obtained by TMZ, the fan and Darrell were all smiles. The fan told the outlet the Storage Wars alum was in good spirits and super friendly throughout the encounter, which made the news of his death extremely jarring.

It was so unexpected and shocking for all of us… But what happened?

Well, police ARE investigating alleged cyberbullying they say might’ve taken place before his passing. A spokesperson for the Lake Havasu Police Department told the outlet on Wednesday:

“We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”

This investigation was started after his Storage Wars co-star Rene Nezhoda sounded alarms on Instagram. In a video, Darrell’s onscreen rival claimed he was bullied online relentlessly.

He began in the clip, clearing the air on their rivalry:

“This is not an easy video to shoot. Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life. So he passed away. I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other because we competed a lot on the show.We had our moments, we had our run-ins but that’s because we were both competitors … we’re the biggest threats out there. So deep down, me and Darrell were friends.”

Rene continued, adding that Darrell and him still “talked every now and then” and that he was “a very hard worker that cared more than anyone.” He then dropped the bombshell:

“I know Darrell would want something positive out of this. He had a guy really tormenting him lately on cyberbullying. Just cause you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us … it doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody.”

So devastating to hear. He wrapped up his video by saying:

“You shouldn’t cyberbully at all. As a matter of fact. If you have somebody in your life that thinks it’s fun to cyberbully other people, maybe a celebrity athlete or a little girl or school or schoolmate, slap [them] in the back of the head. Make them become a better human being, because you never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through and what you might push them through.”
