This is just CRAZY, y’all!
On Wednesday night, Tate McRae went on Capital Radio and told host Jimmy Hill about a wild vacation story! Over the summer, the Canadian singer went on a trip to the beach with her beau The Kid LAROI, and things didn’t go exactly to plan.

Jimmy brought up the wild incident by saying:
“[There was] a quite scary accident you had over the summer on a jet ski with your boyfriend, The Kid Laroi, where you fell off and nearly got eaten by a whale.”
Um… pardon?! Eaten by a whale? Like — EATEN?? OMG…
Jokingly, the host asked about Laroi’s driving ability:
“Have you banned him from driving any sort of vehicle now? Is he a bit of a liability?”
The It’s Ok I’m Ok songstress responded with her explanation of events, which started with giving her boyfriend a little credit:
“Well, now I do. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into. You know you have trust in your boyfriend, but also jet skis are the worst. They flip over every two seconds.”
We mean, that does sound kind of like user error, but glad to hear her defending her man. At one point, Tate said, they had one of these flips and ended up “ten feet away” from their jet ski. And to their horror, they almost ended up in a whale’s mouth as it surfaced! Scary!
“It was the big moment of our trip. I was like, ‘We nearly just landed in a whale’s mouth’!”
An IRL Jonah/Pinocchio moment? Whoa! Even if the larger whales don’t eat humans, we’re guessing you could get trapped inside their giant maws pretty easily, and you’d be in serious trouble!
She went on to say the entire situation — and the ocean itself — just freaks her out:
“That’s so freaky to me, the ocean is just a really freaky thing to me, you’re just in there and it’s black and your toes are dangling and that’s so weird. I got that feeling when we fell in the water and you’re just tingling at the bottom of your feet and you’re like, ‘We could die right now’.”
Yikes! NOT the feeling you want to have when you’re in a situation like that!
