Taylor Frankie Paul Reacts As Decision Is Made On If She'll Face Charges Over Dakota Mortensen Domestic Dispute!

Taylor Frankie Paul can rest easy. She won’t be facing charges after her latest alleged domestic violence dispute against Dakota Mortensen!

District attorney Sim Gill’s office confirmed the decision in a statement to Us Weekly on Tuesday, sharing:

“After reviewing reports and evidence submitted to the Draper Police Department and West Jordan Police Department, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges against Taylor Frankie Paul.”

Of course, this comes after reports broke that Taylor and Dakota were involved in a domestic violence incident that paused production of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The latest incident allegedly took place in late February, and both reality stars accused the other of being the perpetrator.

Video then emerged of a previous DV incident in which Taylor was seen throwing a metal chair at her ex-boyfriend, accidentally striking her daughter instead. For the 2023 confrontation, the MomTok star was arrested and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. All this chaos led to the cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette (and many more career setbacks).

In a letter sent to the Draper and West Jordan police departments — which were investigating two separate domestic violence cases after both being contacted in February, the District Attorney explained the decision further, per Deadline:

“The complainant in these cases reported several incidents — some of which occurred more than three years ago. Any incidents of misdemeanor offenses which are alleged to have occurred more than two years ago are barred by the statute of limitations. Incidents which are alleged to have occurred within the statute of limitations have also been reviewed.”

He added:

“Several incidents that were submitted do not rise to the level of criminal offenses. The remaining incidents lack sufficient evidence to support filing criminal charges where the State must be able to prove such allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. Such incidents lack specificity as to when and what actually occurred or corroboration.”

According to People, the DA also said in a press release that these new investigations would not affect Taylor’s probation status (from her 2023 arrest). Also, “no additional individuals were screened for charges.”

This is very good news for the TikTok personality! And she’s incredibly relieved! Taking to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, she shared a blurry pic of a vase with flowers and a card with a butterfly on it, remarking:

“Cried when I got the call THANK YOU to those that have stood with me”

She and Dakota have both filed temporary protective orders against each other, which resulted in Taylor temporarily losing custody of their son, Ever. So, she’s got a legal fight ahead of her — but it won’t involve the possibility of charges!

Dakota has not reacted to the news at this time.
