Taylor Swift is still making generous GoFundMe donations on the reg!
Her latest random act of kindness? A whopping $50,000 donation to a Connecticut mother who was injured after helping others during a severe rainstorm.
Back in July, Ashley Taunton noticed some fellow humans in need on Interstate 95 in Hopkinton, Rhode Island. Stopping to lend a hand, she wound up getting seriously injured herself and has needed multiple surgeries to even start the road to recovery.
In the GoFundMe page, her story reads:
“On Saturday, July 18th, during a severe rainstorm on I-95, Ashley did what she always does: she put others before herself. Seeing someone in urgent need after a car accident, she pulled over to help. As Joe so perfectly puts it, it was just ‘Ashley doing Ashley things.’
While she was assisting another vehicle hydroplaned and came hurtling directly toward them. In a split-second act of pure bravery, Ashley pushed the other person out of harm’s way, taking the brunt of the impact herself.
Because of her selfless courage, Ashley is now facing a very long and difficult road to recovery. She has already undergone two major surgeries in the last 18 hours alone, with more scheduled in the days ahead.”

And now that her story ultimately got the attention of the most famous pop star in the world, she’s speaking out with utmost gratitude and glory to God. Ashley told People magazine on Monday:
“I am in awe of how God works and how so many can be the hands and feet of Christ to bring triumph from tragedy. It has been an overwhelming blessing and we are so grateful.”
She described the moment she found out about the gift — right as she was about to start a physical therapy session — as stunningly “surreal,” recalling:
“My stomach flipped and I got tears in my eyes but [I] also was in disbelief. My physical therapist was shocked, and my husband had to walk outside and gather himself.”
What makes it even wilder to process is how much Taylor has been a part of her life this whole time:
“We work at a hotel on Misquamicut Beach [in Rhode Island] … We can see [Swift’s] house from our work, and her music is always streaming on our device. So this was mind-blowing!”
Truly!!
Thank goodness for stories like this. Here we have a real life tale about a woman who was helping strangers and a pop superstar who showed up when it was her time of need. Certainly refuels our faith in humanity!
