A USC study has come up with some big “no duh” news lately… the youth who sends the most sexts is the most sexually active!
The study found that middle schoolers who reported receiving a sext were six times more likely to be sexually active.
But wait, there’s more, and it’s actually fascinating! Tweens who sent over 100 texts per day, regardless of the content, were more likely to be sexually active.
Does texting make people super horny or something?
The study looked at over 1,300 L.A. middle school students from ages 10-15 who took part in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
Apparently, one in five students had received a sext and one in 20 had sent one.
We feel like either some sexters aren’t owning up to their sexts or these sexts are coming from somewhere else and that’s weird.
Either way… what the hell?! Why are tweens sexting at all??
If you have a kid, and they have a cellphone, please please please teach them about what is and isn’t appropriate to share with others.
