Rosie O'Donnell Gets Blasted For Defending Chrissy Teigen's Canada Shooting Tweet! See What Happened When She Expressed Her View HERE!

The View got a little tense on Thursday, and the controversy didn’t stop at the table!
Host Rosie O’Donnell is receiving a lot of backlash for her comments on the shooting in Canadian Parliament.

Specifically, Rosie was defending a comment by another outspoken woman. Chrissy Teigen got into a lot of trouble on Wednesday after she tweeted:

The Sports Illustrated cover model was hit with such a deluge of hateful, borderline threatening tweets over the next two days that she eventually posted that she was quitting Twitter.
Well, Rosie thought the comment was spot on. She said on Thursday’s View:

“I thought it was brilliant and on-point, but some people thought it was insensitive.”

A discussion about national gun control policies is obviously an important one to be had. But is it insensitive to compare national tragedies, especially while it’s still going on?
Guest panelist Amy Robach thought the timing was inappropriate, while conservative co-host Nicolle Wallace took Rosie to task, saying that this act of terrorism shouldn’t be used to make a point about U.S. gun violence at all.
Rosie continued to defend Chrissy’s point, saying:

“I think she’s saying: I’m an American, I live here. I see two people shot this week in Canada, and the entire country of Canada is in mourning. However, in America this happens on a daily basis, and we don’t even pay attention anymore.”

Rosie may not have gotten the same horrific, violent tweets that Chrissy got, but she did receive a lot of outraged comments for defending her.

Many viewers called her opinions “disgusting,” “ignorant,” and “hurtful.”
However, Rosie also retweeted several Canadian fans who voiced their support for the points being made, saying they are glad that Canada’s gun safety laws kept the incident from being worse.
