Remember that video of Blake Lively and Amy Schumer at Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special over the weekend? Wouldn’t you just die to be a fly on the wall? Well, a lip reader is finally breaking down what the two said to each other!
Blake attended the show on Sunday with hubby Ryan Reynolds, and viewers were perplexed, commenting that they have more important things to worry about right now, like her legal battle with Justin Baldoni. They especially didn’t think their joke about it landed — and Baldoni’s legal team felt the same way. So yeah, it mayyyyybe wasn’t a great idea to attend! And some stars seemingly thought so, too!
From what we’ve heard the Hollywood power couple didn’t receive a warm welcome from everyone! TMZ sources claimed several stars deliberately “avoided them” that night, and one questioned why they even bothered to show up. Damn!

However, Blake and Ryan were not total outcasts! They reportedly chatted with some celebrities, including Dakota Johnson, Tom Hanks, and Rita Wilson. The Gossip Girl alum was caught on camera getting a hug from and talking to Amy Schumer backstage. Check it out (below):
It’s so hard to tell what Amy and Blake say to each other in the clip, but the whole thing seems a bit awkward, right? We heard the actress was “nervous” at the show, so perhaps that’s all we’re seeing? Even though Amy appeared to offer support, her anxious energy could have been radiating at that moment! Who knows! But thank goodness for lip readers, though! One gave us some potential answers about what Blake and Amy told each other during the conversation!
Speaking to Dailymail.com on Wednesday, lip reader Nicola Hickling claimed when the pair embraced, Blake told Amy:
“I need this hug so much.”
Makes sense. We all know why she needed that hug! As Blake glanced at Ryan in front of them, she said:
“God help me.”
Amy then offered some reassurance to the A Simple Favor star, saying:
“You’re gonna be okay.”
To which Nicola thinks Blake responded:
“That’s perfect, thank you for being there.”
Referring to Ryan, Amy allegedly added:
“They are projecting onto him.”
Hmm.
Of course, take this with a grain of salt. This is just what the lip reader thinks was said, and neither Amy nor Blake have addressed the conversation. Not that we expect them to ever talk about it publicly! But one thing we know for sure is that Amy is clearly on Blake’s side! At least to her face! Unless she was one of those celebs who were talking behind her back that night…
