Will Ferrell Rushed To Hospital After His SUV Got Flipped On The Freeway!

UPDATE 6:54 P.M. EST: Will has now released an official statement on the accident through a rep:

“While traveling back to Los Angeles after hosting a voter registration event in San Diego, a car carrying Will Ferrell and three of his colleagues was struck on the freeway by another vehicle.
Will and his colleague, Andrew Steele, were unhurt and have been released from an Orange County hospital.
Will is staying close by as his friends are being treated, and has expressed his deep gratitude to the first responders who were immediately at the scene and to the hospital team that took such great care of them. He’s also grateful for all the well wishes he and his friends are receiving.”

UPDATE 1:51 P.M. EST: Billy Eichner has been asked by fans if he was in the car with Will, and he has now responded on Twitter, saying, “Yes I’m ok. I wasn’t in the car. Will and everyone are ok. Very scary but very thankful everyone is ok.”


We’re so glad he’s OK! This crash sounds scary as hell!
Will Ferrell was sent to the hospital after a car accident on Thursday night; thankfully his reps have confirmed he was released after it was assured he was not seriously injured.
TMZ reports the Saturday Night Live alum was on the I-5 in Orange County, on his way home from a Funny Or Die event in San Diego, in which he appeared as Ron Burgundy.

Ferrell was being driven in an SUV along with two other passengers when another car sideswiped the vehicle — causing it to spin and flip over on the freeway!
According to TMZ‘s law enforcement sources, though some beer bottles were found on the scene, drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the crash, and no one has been charged with anything.
The state of the other passengers is still unknown.
