Wolverine Is A Do-Gooder! Addresses The UN!

Hugh Jackman is getting involved in humanitarianism and his first order of business was to attend the United Nations Climate Summit in New York yesterday. He excitedly attended as an ambassador to the World Vision charity, which "aims to help children and families living in poverty."
Hugh addressed the U.N., discussing his trip to Ethiopia last year and highlighted the affects he saw on the climate change on the poor in this part of the world:
"On this trip it really gelled for me that you can't separate the issues of climate change and poverty. They are inextricably linked. Having been to Ethiopia and seen these farmers, seen the battle they face from what is a problem that the developed countries have brought on many of these developing countries, there is a justice, there is a gap we need to fill."
Nicely said.
The awesome Aussie later joined U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and former British prime minister Tony Blair to talk politics.
He can sing. He can act. Maybe he can save the world!

The developing nations have to give WAY more to see some sustainable change in under-served countries. We need to fund and follow-through on "restoration" programs. This is just better for everyone. You know, it is a BUNCH OF BULLSHIT having these celebrities addressing congress, the united nations, on conditions around the world. I mean, these people go in there for ONE DAY, Maybe ONE WEEK and now they are experts on the countries. look at you St. Jolie-she goes flying around and stays for less then a day and she does not even know the right name of the country-and she is now supposed to be an expert on conditions. RIGHT. These UN and Congress people too starstruck to listen to people who have worked the area for months or years? Those Drs, peacecorp people, missionary people, don't they know what is going on? They go in knowing they could die, they go in being paid very little if anything, they go in without bodyguards. But guess they aren't good enough for the UN or congress. stupid

Ethiopia was such a beautiful country and the people there are just terrific. Starvation in this country is alarming. I am happy Hugh Jackman is opening eyes to this. Ethiopia is one of the oldest places on earth, the people there are so beautiful… I hope to go there again someday and see the country strive, though I fear that is a lot to hope for.
