Looks like being pissed off at the world helped…
Sean Penn just raised $2 million for Haiti while at the Cannes Film Festival!
This comes right on the heels of Penn yelling at the world for abandoning Haiti after their 2010 earthquake, and it seems like Penn's and Paul Haggis' idea to fundraise at the even more than paid off.
The event was the first ever for the festival since 1996, and was the first time that three separate charities banded together to help one cause.
The last time the festival did anything like this came in the form of benefit screenings!
The main breadwinner for the charities was the auction. It included a three day trip to Haiti WITH Sean Penn (each of the three bidders who won promised over $128k each!), a Bono guitar, a lunch date with a Victoria's Secret Angel, and VIP access to their 2012 fashion show!
So fab! We're glad that Sean witness that while some people may have forgotten, not everyone in the world has!
Raising awareness again will certainly help people come back around!

Don't cry Paul McCartney!
Friday, the Beatle will lose his title of World's Richest Rock Star, to Bono.
Thanks to a wise investment, Bono now owns 2.3% of Facebook shares.
THAT MEANS, by the end of the day a $90 million investment the U2er made 2 years ago, will magically turn into $1.5 billion.
Since he earned most his money from the stock market, this officially makes Bono better at investing than music. LOL!
Either way, we bet the billionaire is gonna have a VERY special night tonight!

Starting next month, Starbucks stores across the US and Canada will be selling Every Mother Counts 2012, a compilation CD featuring some of the biggest names in the music biz and even some unheard tracks.
$8 of every CD sold will go to benefit maternal mortality reduction programs globally.
An amazing cause and great music? It doesn't get any better than that!
Check out the complete track listing (after the jump)!
Producers of Broadway's Spider-Man Musical are facing legal action from one of the super-pissed-off spiderman stuntmen who alleges he suffered a freakin' ton of injuries during production of the show.
The list of injuries the stuntman, Richard Kobak, is claiming makes it sound like he was in a car wreck. We mean, look at this: concussions, whiplash, herniated discs in his back and problems with his knees. Ouchie!
A spokesperson for the producers of Spiderman Musical responded:
She may not have gotten evicted from her apartment, but Courtney has moved on to a new residence…with the help of Bono!
To recap - back in December, Courtney Love's landlord was trying to get her evicted from her NYC apartment for several reasons, including "redoing the wallpaper without permission" and "setting the walls ablaze!"
Then in January, a judge tossed out the landlord's case…but Courtney has decided to live somewhere else anyway!
She's just moved to "The Lafayette building" In Nolita (in NYC), and she was able to land her new place thanks to a character reference by U2's Bono!
Here's what she said about it:
Julie Taymor Has FINALLY Reached A Settlement Agreement With Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark Producers!!!
Excuse us for a second, while we take a deep breath before we recap the Julie Taymor/Spider-Man lawsuit saga…….
Back in November, Julie Taymor filed a lawsuit against the Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark producers for violating her "creative rights as an author" of the play…and for failing to compensate her "for their continued use of her work to date."
Then, the producers released a statement in which they fired back at Julie, claiming they'd already been trying to resolve everything with her out of court.
