Don't Expect To See The Words 'Plus-Size' Anywhere On Melissa McCarthy's Clothing Line! Find Out Why!
Melissa McCarthy is SUCH an inspiration!
Not only is she a HIGHlarious actress, but she's also a total boss when it comes to branding her clothing line! At the end of last year, the 44-year-old announced she was going to launch her own line called Seven7.
But if you think you're going to see a label that reads "plus-size" on any of the tags, think again!
The Ghostbusters actress isn't a fan of that term because she says it makes women of certain sizes feel excluded:
"Women come in all sizes. Seventy percent of women in the United States are a size 14 or above, and that's technically plus-size, so you're taking your biggest category of people and telling them, 'You're not really worthy.' I find that very strange."
"I just think, if you're going to make women's clothing, make women's clothing. Designers that put everyone in categories are over-complicating something that should be easy."
And it's clear Melissa has no intention of leaving any body type out! The sizes will range from 4 to 28, and NOTHING will cost more than $150!

We're finally getting a look at Melissa McCarthy's fashion line Seven7!
The actress delivered on her promise that her designs would have sleeves and pockets, because what we see so far definitely has both of those features!
Don't all her sweaters and tops and dresses look so comfy? And we love that she actually made pants with cool prints!
The line officially debuts on September 1, with Melissa appearing on HSN on August 13 to show some of her stuff to viewers.
She said of her venture:
"I just wanted to do a basic closet that I couldn't find. Some days I want to be prim and proper, and others I want to be in a band. The fun of it is you should be able to put these things together and not have to make a choice about going out to dinner or getting the sweater. Wear the sweater to dinner."
"It's always what I thought I would do. I went into clothing and textiles in college and moved here with [shoe designer] Brian Atwood. I was going to finish at FIT and he made me do stand-up on the second night."
Everything looks so wearable!

Melissa McCarthy is flying so high right now!
The actress' latest movie Spy is doing well in theaters and in critical reviews, and her clothing line, Seven7, is coming along nicely!
Melissa now has more details to share!
For one thing, she's super committed to the endeavor and has even tried on every outfit:
"I've worn every single piece. There are little jeans that are super stretchy and they come all the way up, because I just do not need to see anyone's muffin top, and I do not need to see anyone bend over and be able to tell what color underwear they're wearing anymore."
We honestly don't recall ever hearing a celebrity clothing designer say they've worn every piece themselves.
The actress is also very serious about sleeves and pockets:
"Yes, there are lots of sleeves here! Hallelujah! Do you know how many fights I've had about sleeves? I was actually told once [by a manufacturer she's not working with now], ‘Plus-size women do not want sleeves, in any capacity.' I was like, ‘Are you crazy? That's not accurate! I am plus-size, and I want them, I have friends who are size 26 and size 8 and they want a sleeve! Very few things [in Seven7] don't have sleeves. My stuff has sleeves, my stuff has pockets, you can count on that."
Then she claims she's being selfish with this line, although we don't buy it:
"I started this line because I wanted to know: Where are the normal clothes? This really is a selfish venture. I wanted to build a better closet for myself."
That doesn't sound selfish! At least she's not doing it solely for money like some other celebs.
She's going to end up helping so many people who want cute clothes that actually fit!
The collection will be available in stores and on melissamccarthy.com in August.

First, let's just start with how amazing Melissa McCarthy looks!
She looks so, so happy!
And she should because the Spy starlet's clothing line is almost here. She even has the pics to prove it!
She captioned the self-promoting pic, writing:
"My #JonStewart dress….see it tonight on@TheDailyShow 11p on Comedy Central. #SpyMovie Press Tour"
Fabulous! We can't wait to see his reaction!

Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne were on two ends of the style spectrum at the New York premiere of Spy on Monday.
The actresses were basically sugar and spice in their respective outfits, with Melissa looking pretty as a flower in a light pink wrap gown that matched her peppy pink makeup.
Her eyes look even greener against all that rosiness!
But co-star Rose was Melissa's sultry contrast in a black beaded Osman dress with cut-outs along the skirt worn with black Brian Atwood platforms.
They couldn't have been more different and yet they somehow look great side-by-side like this!

Melissa McCarthy looks amazing!!
The actress continued to wow at the London premiere of her new film, Spy, on Wednesday.
And instead of showing off her slim figure in a poncho, Melissa expertly rocked a belted, snakeskin-printed gown to really put it on display!
It's a lot of neutral tones like last time, but this look is way more glamorous and red carpet-worthy.
Plus, her red pout and blown out locks were the perfect accents to bring the wow factor!
Do U love it or what??

Wow! Melissa McCarthy's weight loss has never been more obvious!
The actress has been steadily losing weight for some time now, but her recent appearance at the Spy premiere in Germany on Tuesday REALLY showed exactly how far she's come!
Melissa showed off her slimmer frame on the red carpet in brown leather leggings and a flowing poncho-style beige top.
She definitely looks great, but we have to be frank and admit that her outfit isn't to our liking — the color scheme is a little overkill.
So many earth tones!
We do really like her sleek hair and soft makeup, though!
