It's hard to believe that it's been three weeks since Celine Dion lost her husband René Angélil to cancer.

On Wednesday, the My Heart Will Go On Singer returned to the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in order to honor her late husband. Let us just start by saying it was an emotional event.

In a gorgeous black number, the pop icon addressed friends and fans who showed up (in person and via live stream) to the memorial service.

Celine Dion will never forget the many special moments she shared with the late René Angélil.

On Wednesday, Celine posted a touching photo of her and Angélil embracing backstage at one of her concerts. The pic comes in anticipation of René's Wednesday night memorial in Las Vegas.

Not only will the event at Colosseum at Caesars Palace commemorate the mogul's life with personal anecdotes and other tributes, but it will also mark the first time Dion has taken the stage since his passing from cancer on January 14.

Not too long after the precious snap, the singer's team shared the following message:

"Today, a 'celebration of life' of René Angélil will be held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 19 pm (PST) and this will be distributed simultaneously online. During the event, of the guests who have all met René will speak and will remember the man he was through stories and memories. If you want to send a message of condolence to Céline and her family, know that it is very appreciated."

Sounds like a very moving event. We bet it will be as equally emotional as R.A.'s January 22 funeral in Montreal.

Hopefully this memorial will bring additional closure to Celine and her three sons she shared with the beloved René.

January has been a terrible month for Celine Dion.

Not only did the songstress lose her beloved husband René Angélil to cancer on January 14, but she also lost her brother Daniel Dion to the illness two days later.

According to insiders, while Dion did attend Daniel's memorial service on Saturday at Salon Charles Rajotte in Repentigny, Canada, she did NOT attend his funeral on January 25. The decision is understandable considering the icon just laid René to rest on Friday.

A source also went on to add that C.D. didn't want to put her three sons through more public mourning.

So heartbreaking. We imagine the star is emotionally exhausted and needs time to recover.

Take care of yourself, Celine.

This must be an excruciating time for Celine Dion and her three children.

On Friday, Celine, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy said their final goodbyes to their beloved patriarch René-Angélil. The service took place at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal where Dion and Angélil wed 21 years ago.

The beautiful service, which included lilies of the valley fastened to every church pew, was planned out by the music manager prior to his sudden death from throat cancer last Thursday. The funeral was also punctuated with heartbreaking tributes from the 74-year-old's kids, who had nothing but lovely things to say about their late father.

Celine's eldest son, René-Charles, stated:

"Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father. You left me now with enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers. As they grow older without you being around, I'll make sure to pass on what I've learned from you. You are a tough act to follow but with our help everything is going to be fine. Dad, I promise you here that we're all going to live up to your standards."

Yeah, we're going to need a tissue. What an emotional day for everyone involved.
