According to the latest reports, the Dark Knight star went through a long deliberation process over the film but ultimately decided he just wasn't right for the part.

Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain is being considered for an unspecified role. Maybe Siri? Just kidding, that's ridiculous.

Writer Aaron Sorkin confirmed the casting with glowing praise, saying:
"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale."
Aaron says the Dark Knight star didn't even have to audition! He says:
