Danny Boyle Confirms Sequel To Trainspotting!

danny-boyle-to-start-work-on-trainspotting-sequel-porno

Oh, boy! Those are characters we're not sure that we want to see again!

Fresh off the heels of 127 Hours, Danny Boyle has revealed that he at some point hopes to revisit one of his earlier works, Trainspotting, by making a sequel to the 1996 film!

The original flick - which starred Ewan McGregor and Johnny Lee Miller - was based on the novel by Irvine Welsh, and already has a follow-up, Porno, and it includes all of the original characters - just now middle-aged!

Boyle explains:

'It will happen, I think. I mean, we'll approach them all again about it, but it will depend on what place they're all at. We have a very strong idea that it would be a wonderful thing to reapproach, to do again, when they have aged clearly into a mid-life kind of crisis, basically. They're not quite there yet, I don't think.'

As squeamish as it will no doubt make us, we definitely would love to Porno on the big screen!

But Boyle is right to want to wait until he can secure the entire cast back!

If anyone can make this one work, it's him, so we're excited to see this one develop!

Jim Carrey: ‘It Was A Dream Come True To Kiss Ewan McGregor’

wenn311263322.jpg

Will this be the newest Hollywood power couple?!?!!

Probably not. Jim Carrey seemed to have his tongue firmly in his cheek when he told an interviewer that he loved kissing Ewan McGregor in a new film (where Carrey plays a conman who falls in love with his fellow inmate McGregor).

Said Carrey about the kiss:

“[It was] a dream come true. I mean, look at the guy. I have to say, he is a great kisser. As Ewan said, 'When you're kissing another guy, it can get a little prickly. Actually, you had to put out of your mind your own sexual preference and just try to understand that you were loving another person, who just happens to be a guy.

“It wasn't about male or female; love is love,” he added.

We LOVED Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, so hopefully we get another glimpse of that brilliance in this new comedy/drama!

Don Quixote Has Money Troubles!

wenn2755293tg.jpg

Uh, oh!

Terry Gilliam's Don Quixote is experiencing a "financial hiccup" for his project he's been trying to make for over ten years!

Johnny Depp already dropped out of the film, causing it to be shelved, but Gilliam seemed to revive it this year even casting Ewan McGregor opposite Robert Duvall as Quixote.

But it appears there's more problems than meet the eye.

Gilliam says:

"We moved forward and then we stepped back a bit. Originally, I thought we were going to be in pre-production right now, but there's been a little hiccup… Robert Duvall is still Quixote and Ewan McGregor is still involved - all that stuff is still happening. There's just been a financial hiccup…

The sad thing is you get used to this, which is a kind of numbing experience. And to be numb is not the best thing to be creative. You gear yourself up for a certain level of work - and then boom: hiccup. Suddenly the energy had nowhere to go. That's frustrating."

That doesn't sound good!

Ewan McGregor Hooks Up With Don Quixote

ewanwenn8402601.jpg

Just the man to fill Johnny Depp's shoes.

Since Johnny will be busy battling Pirates for Disney come this fall, Terry Gilliam was forced to find someone to replace him in his latest flick, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

Terry revealed while at Cannes this weekend that he has decided on Ewan McGregor for the part. Ewan plays opposite Robert Duvall, who will play Quixote, as "a 21st century advertising executive who travels back in time to 17th century Spain, where he meets Don Quixote and becomes involved in adventures with him."

Of the project, Terry admits:

"Robert Duvall is one of the greats, no question - and he can ride a horse! And Ewan has gotten better over the years. He was wonderful in The Ghost. There's a lot of colours to Ewan that he's not been showing recently and it's time for him to show them again. He's got a great sense of humour and he's a wonderful actor. He's wonderfully boyish and can be charming - when he flashes a smile, everybody melts. He wields it like a nuclear bomb!"

Oh don't we know it!

Sounds like it will be a good role for Ewan! We're excited for him!
