It's about time!
It's being reported that Marco J. Ramirez, who is the co-showrunner for the second season of Daredevil on Netflix, and also wrote a couple episodes of the first season is going to be writing the long awaited adaptation of the manga classic, Akira.
It's also reported that Andrew Lazar, who most recently worked on American Sniper as well as Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way are producing the film!
The super popular manga comic, who's original run was in the '80s, follows two brothers who are in biker gangs set in a post-nuclear apocalypse of Neo-Tokyo. The brothers eventually find themselves rivals when one of them starts to abuse his newly developed telekinetic powers!
Warner Brothers has owned the rights to the comic since 2008 and it's almost come to fruition several times! Back in 2012, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Ken Watanabe and Helena Bonham Carter were all in talks to to star as various roles with Jaume Collet-Serra as director before the film fell through due to script and budget issues.
Ramirez has a solid history of work that varies from writing episodes of Sons of Anarchy, Orange is the New Black, Daredevil and Da Vinci's Demons — the last two projects, he also helped produce.
Are you excited to hear Akira is a step closer to becoming a real deal or what?!

Sing it, Cindy!!
Disney's live action Cinderella has already made over $260 million worldwide, and the film's success is greatly due to Lily James' enchanting performance as the iconic princess!
As if we needed another reason to love her, Disney released a video of James performing a new rendition of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes – from the 1950s animated classic — and her voice is beautiful!!
Ch-ch-check out the AH-mazingly magical video (above)!
Helena Bonham Carter's dress may be more striking, but Lily James can boast all the cleavage!
The two stars of Cinderella attended the film's London premiere on Thursday in gowns that certainly lived up to the movie's fabulous fashion!
Cinderella's fairy godmother chose a deep green Vivienne Westwood creation with a black floral motif that made her just as badass as the evil stepmother!
This is what we were hoping for! And they totally delivered!
Except you, Helena Bonham Carter, you left us wanting more.
But Cate Blanchett and Lily James were absolute queens at the premiere of Cinderella during the Berlinale Film Festival on Friday night!
Or, more accurately, princesses, in Lily's case!
The young actress was
Cinderella has iguanas all over her dress!
We suppose it's not so weird considering the fairy tale heroine has always had a cozy relationship with animals.
Plus the iguanas on Lily James' Mary Katrantzou dress are wearing tutus! It's all kind of magical, really!
Her stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and fairy godmother (Helena Bonham Carter) were less whimsical in their monochrome looks at the movie's photocall during the Berlinale Film Festival on Friday, although Helena did wear star-print Stella McCartney platform shoes!
Please let them bring out the extra poufy, extra glittery dresses for the movie's premiere!
It just won't be right if they don't!

Another day, another fish between Helena Bonham Carter's legs.
While there's no doubt Helena looks FABULOUS in this photo, we were very curious to find out the reason behind this FISHY snap!
According to the actress, the inneresting photo is apart of a campaign to protect marine life in Britain.
On Wednesday, the Cinderella star spoke in front of England's House of Commons committee to campaign for the welfare of fish, whales, turtles, seabirds, and penguins.
Aww! Everything was going so wonderfully for Cinderella… then the stupid clock had to strike midnight!
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see the magical transformations — and their poorly timed reversals — as real as they've ever looked!
Cinderella will dance at the ball no matter what Cate Blanchett thinks on March 13!
