Kevin Bacon and his good buddy Jeff Bridges are asking for YOUR help this week!

They are trying to fight hunger through a fund raising campaign on Bacon's site: SixDegrees.org.

Bacon gave an interview about the cause, and it went a little like this:

This 42-year-old man has been trying to get into the U.S. Open for 12 years and all he has to do to make it this year is make this one putt…

Oh no!!!! He missed!

Ohhhh so cloooose!

WAIT!

It went in! The comeback story of the year!

That's not very dude-like, dude! Ha!

Just kidding! We're actually happy to hear Jeff Bridges doesn't smoke as much marijuana as we thought he did! LOL!

Although he admits he takes an occasional toke of the green stuff if it's offered, he recently shared he does NOT smoke any while working, explaining:

“If it’s (marijuana) offered I’ll take it but I’m not a regular smoker, despite what people may think. I don’t smoke when I work because I want to have my wits about me. Besides sobriety is a wonderful high.”

Yes! We totally agree! There is no high better than life!

Napkins with doodles on them? BORING!

UNLESS the doodle was drawn by Jeff Bridges or any of the other awesome celebs who are helping out with this cause!

It’s NF (neurofibromatosis) Awareness month, and celebs are pitching in to do their party by putting hand-drawn doodles up for auction on ebay to help raise money for NF, Inc, an organization that supports individuals and families affected by the disorder.

The above doodle is one of our favs, drawn by Gillian Anderson!

Jeff Bridges has taken a pledge to end childhood hunger by 2015 and so can you!

Working with the nonprofit Share Our Strength and the Foot Network, the actor is the national spokesman for the No Kid Hungry campaign.

The campaign is a state-by-state push to develop public and private partnerships to aid low-income families, to teach nutrition and healthy eating habits and to improve the effectiveness of existing efforts, like school-based breakfast and lunch plans.

The Academy Award winner has been raising awareness for the issue since he helped created the End Hunger Network in the 80's, but believes the issue resonates with him even more because of his own parenting duties, saying:

"As an actor I'm always putting myself in other people's shoes. I can imagine what it would be like to have three daughters who I wasn't able to provide for. It would just be devastating. And then it's much more than the obvious suffering of the kids, but what it's doing to our nation on so many levels when kids don't have the proper nutrition to get their brains working."
