Penn Badgley's Margin Call Trailer!

| Filed under: Film FlickersKevin SpaceyPenn BadgleyZachary Quinto

Check out this trailer for the new Wall Street drama flick called Margin Call!

Not only does it look incredible, but it's packed full of stars! We're spotting Zachary Quinto, Jeremy Irons, Kevin Spacey… and, of course, that seksi Penn Badgley!

It's pretty crazy that things like this happen. Sure, it's dramatized, but the idea of the line, "You're selling something that you know has no value," could be a very real and scary idea!

Will U be catching this flick?

So, which movie won at the box office this weekend??

In its second weekend, Transformers: Dark of the Moon came in first place with $47 million, a good number, but a 52% decline from last week's explosive weekend. Don't feel too bad for the producers though because the movie so far has racked up a crazy impressive 12-day total of $261 million. Holy Optimus Prime!

The HIGHlariously funny comedy Horrible Bosses starring Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey finished the weekend in second place with a strong start with $28.1 million.

And looks like the kiddies dragged their parents to see Kevin James' Zookeeper, which came in at the third spot with $21 million. Guess kids can't say no to cute CG animals!

Here's this weekend's top five box office:

1. Transformers: Dark of the Moon — $47.0 mil
2. Horrible Bosses — $28.1 mil
3. Zookeeper — $21.0 mil
4. Cars 2 — $15.2 mil
5. Bad Teacher — $9.0 mil
6. Larry Crowne — $6.3 mil

So, what did U see this weekend?

Robin Wright May Star In Netflix's FIRST Original Series House Of Cards

| Filed under: TV NewsKevin Spacey

Robin Wright

A few months ago we talked about Netflix's first original series directed by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey, which the company acquired by outbidding television networks like HBO and AMC with a $100 million commitment.

House of Cards, the 26-episode political thriller based off of a British miniseries of the same name, may have found its leading lady too!

Robin Wright is in talks to star alongside Spacey in the series slated to begin filming in the Spring of 2012.

This is definitely huge and we can see this changing the entertainment landscape forever if the show is successful.

Based off of David Fincher's track record, it's pretty hard to believe it WON'T be successful.

Plus, Netflix has over 20 million subscribers, many of which choose the online based entertainment over cable. We're sure 20 million people wouldn't mind some original programming!

Since it only costs $8 bucks a month for the most basic service, we can see a lot of people subscribing for the original programming on top of their cable bill too!

Do U think this may be the beginning of a new era for television shows?

Netflix To Feature Their Own Original Series!

| Filed under: TV NewsFilm FlickersPolitikKevin SpaceyBusiness Blitz

netflix to feature original series

Uh oh, Amazon Prime & Redbox and maybe even cable networks! Looks like Netflix means business.

Netflix has just outbid HBO and AMC for House of Cards, an original series directed by The Social Network's David Fincher, which will star Kevin Spacey, and is being executive produced by the duo.

Negotiations are still underway, but it appears that Netflix will be the exclusive home for the 26-episode season, which will cost the company over $100 million.

The show was written by former Conservative Party chief of staff Michael Dobbs, and it's a political thriller which is "set at the end of Margaret Thatcher's tenure as prime minister and follows a British politician with his eye on the top job."

This is quite a move for Netflix! And given the fact that The Social Network's David Fincher is attached to the project, we could see where A LOT of people will want to check out the show.

Should be inneresting to see how this affects their business.

Would you be more inclined to sign up for Netflix with the addition of original series'?

Kevin Spacey Bringing Peace Theatre To The Middle East

| Filed under: Broadway BabiesKevin Spacey

kevin-spacey-middle-east-theater-project.jpg

Solid! What a really great project to put together!

Kevin Spacey has signed off on a project for his foundation called Dubai: the Middle East Theater Academy. The group will attempt to bring culture and the arts to the region and "provide instruction in all aspects of theater and offer a path for Middle Eastern works to travel to Broadway and other international sites."

Considering what is going on in Egypt right now, we don't know if this is the best time for this.

Then again, who knows? Maybe it could be a real force for good! We certainly hope so! Nothing like the arts to bring people together!

Kevin Spacey Talks About His Sexuality…Sort Of

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayKevin Spacey

kevin spacey talks about his sexuality sort of

Innerested in hearing about Kevin Spacey's sexuality?

During an interview with Kevin Sessums for the Daily Beast, Spacey SORT OF opens up about his sexuality.

Here are some highlights of the conversation from Kevin…

Spacey on why he hasn't publicly claimed himself as a gay man:

Look, I might have lived in England for the last several years but I'm still an American citizen and I have not given up my right to privacy.

More on why his sexuality is a private matter for him:

…People have different reasons for the way they live their lives. You cannot put everyone's reasons in the same box. It's just a line I've never crossed and never will.

Spacey on why he doesn't feel he's living a lie by not announcing his sexuality publicly:

I don't live a lie. You have to understand that people who choose not to discuss their personal lives are not living a lie. That is a presumption that people jump to.

And here's Kevin on why he feels that sexuality IS an important issue and should be discussed:

Look, I think finally this is a very important issue to be discussed. I do. Mainly because of how sad it is that young people in this country—and even around the world where they don't have the freedoms and rights we do—are being subjected to the kinds of abuse they are being subjected to. That's what is shameful.

We certainly agree that it's an important issue that needs to be discussed. Other than that, we agree that it's Kevin's decision as to whether or not he wants to publicly announce his sexuality.

Admittedly, we think it'd be wonderful if he embraced his sexuality publicly, so that we'd have another open, celebrity icon for gay youth to look up to, but let's be honest…he's made it pretty clear what his sexuality is.

Thoughts???
