Leonardo DiCaprio Hangs Out With Pope Francis To Discuss Climate Change!

Looks like Leonardo DiCaprio is pulling out the big guns!

On Thursday, Leo met with Pope Francis at the Vatican in Italy to discuss very important issues like climate change and the environment. Also along for the ride was L.D.'s father George DiCaprio and the global fundraising chair for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

The meeting is not too much of a surprise considering both the Pope and the actor are staunch supporters of reducing our carbon footprint in an effort to make the world more sustainable for generations to come.

In fact, last September P.F. made a great comment about environmentalism at the United Nations General Assembly, saying:

"Any harm done to our environment is harm done to humanity."

How well said!

While the contents of the meeting were private, we're sure the two had a great brainstorming session on how to stop the horrendous crimes against our environment. They're both passionate AND knowledgeable about the cause, after all!

On another note, can we stop to reflect on what a great year DiCaprio is having? Not only did the 41-year-old get to meet the Pope, but he also won a Golden Globe for Best Actor earlier this month.

Who knows, maybe Leo will top off his fab month with an Oscar win!

Leonardo DiCaprio's Banned Film Don's Plum FINALLY Released By Scorned Producer — 'You Are Not Bigger Than Art, Leo'

Woah, there's A LOT to break down here!

For those who don't know, back in 1995 Leonardo DiCaprio starred in a little known indie flick called Don's Plum. The movie, produced by Don Wheatley, also featured Tobey Maguire and Jenny Lewis.

Despite the laid back tone of the film depicting one night of improvisational conversation between 20-something friends, it ended up causing tons of drama for Don and the director R.D. Robb.

Essentially, Leo and Tobey claimed Don's Plum was misrepresented as a director's exercise for a portfolio instead of a full-feature film. The actors contended the movie makers decided to release the footage only after DiCaprio made it big with Titanic. The slander in the press and subsequent litigation eventually resulted in the film being banned in the United States and Canada.

Cut to 21 years later, and Wheatley is fighting back. After years of failed legal attempts, the producer has released the full movie on his website along with an open letter to Leo.

In the scathing letter, D.W. states:

OMG, This Is What The 'Bear' From The Revenant Really Looked Like (It's Not NEARLY As Scary IRL)!

The Revenant landed an astounding 12 nominations for this year's Oscars — one of which was for the shocking visual effects!

This nod didn't come of a surprise, largely due to a very realistic (and horribly gruesome) scene where Leonardo DiCaprio gets attacked by a grizzly bear.

But filming the graphic scene, which shows DiCaprio's character Hugh Glass getting viciously mauled (but not raped) for several minutes, didn't involve a bear at all!

In fact, stuntman Glen Ennis, who brought the animal to life with the help of CGI, says there was never even a bear on the set of the Alejandro Iñárritu thriller!

Similar to how Andy Serkis became Gollum in Lord Of The Rings, the 51-year-old wore a blue suit and behaved exactly like a grizzly bear — and CGI animators did the rest of the work.

This is what he actually looked like on set:

But while these two are both single, a source is insisting these two are "just friends," as they were also spotted with Cara Delevingne.

In case you don't remember, RiRi and Leo reportedly swapped spit early last year at a party at the Playboy Mansion!

This time around though, the insider continued:

If anyone deserves an Oscar this year, it's Leonardo DiCaprio.

The actor was put through a LOT shooting Alejandro Iñárrito's epic The Revenant, like sleeping in animal carcassas and eating raw bison liver — but NOT getting raped by a bear!

This will be the SIXTH time the Academy has nominated Leo for the most coveted award in Hollywood — even Kate Winslet thinks it's time! And she let him drown one time!

The 41-year-old has been nominated for five acting awards — the first for his supporting role in What's Eating Gilbert Grape at just 19 years old.

But Leo isn't the only star who has been repeatedly nominated without ever taking home the award…

You can't stay number one forever!

After spending four weeks at the top of the box office, Star Wars: The Force Awakens fell to third place over the long Martin Luther King Day weekend.

Ride Along 2, the buddy cop sequel starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, was the flick that finally toppled the 2015 phenomenon, earning a solid $39.5 million and the top spot.

But Leonardo DiCaprio's The Revenant wasn't far behind, riding the wave of award season — and the 12 Oscar nominations it received last week — to $35 million.

The Force Awakens ended up landing in third with a respectable $31 million.

Innerestingly, Hart and Cube's followup — though successful — wasn't able to pull in the $41 mil that their original film made during its opening weekend in January of 2014.
