Exciting news! After a 10-year absence, Liza Minnelli is set to return to the Great White Way! Liza will be playing the Palace Theater from December 3-14 in a show called Liza's at the Palace. She'll be accompanied by pianist-musical supervisor Billy Stritch, a 12-piece orchestra and four dancer-singers. Liza classics like Cabaret and New York, New York will be performed for you dedicated fans. The show will also celebrate Kay Thompson, L's godmother. In addition to appearing in films like Funny Face, Miz Thompson also wrote the Eloise books! Sounds like a show that should not be missed! You must watch this vintage interview of Judy Garland from 1967 done by none other than Barbara Walters. They talk about the media, being hounded, the paparazzi, drugs and the cult of celebrity. It draws so many parallels to Brit Brit! Judy was high as a kite during the interview. She died about a year after. Sad. Permalink / 311 comments (RSS) / Forward this post » On The Road Again
Just weeks after collapsing during a concert in Sweden, Liza Minnelli is set to resume touring again. The legendary singer, plagued by the demon of addiction, will start rehearsals again this week. Her first show back is January 12th in Providence, R.I. "Not to worry," said Liza's lawyer. All will be well. We hope. Just go in with little expectations. Or expect her to pass out again. Surprise. Surprise. Liza Minnelli was drunk and on painkillers when she passed out last week during a concert, the Swedish media is reporting. You can't teach an old dog new tricks! He tells us the show was disastrous! "She dropped her microphone, was digging in her nose, hanging at the piano not to fall down, and is led both up and down the stage by two people just so she wouldn´t fall," our Perezcious reader shares. "And best of all: she's so drunk that no one heard more than a few words in the few songs that she managed to do before she got off stage, many songs to early. The band didn´t know what to do as you can see." CLICK HERE to watch the until now never-before-seen footage!!!! Permalink / 60 comments (RSS) / Forward this post » Liza Collapses On Stage!
Oh no!!! Liza Minnelli collapsed while performing in Sweden on Wednesday!!! The legendary entertainer has been rushed back to the United States for medical treatment. Minnelli's manager, Gary Labriola, released a statement saying, "We don't yet know what happened, we are all very worried." We hope our Liza, 61 years old, is okay!! "I just feel horrible for [Britney Spears]. You know, she’s got a disease. And when you have a disease, you cannot help it. So it’s not your fault, but you’re responsible for it. I just feel so bad for her because I don’t think anybody really understands what’s going on. The way the press is now, she’s getting so much attention. Somebody said to me the other day, 'God, you have to go to jail to get a good review.' It’s an interesting period. They used to have clauses and contracts where you can’t get bad publicity or you’d get fired. But now bad publicity is good publicity. I just keep working and don’t think about it much. - Liza Minelli tells the St. Petersburg Times [Image by New York Daily News via WENN.] Permalink / 81 comments (RSS) / Forward this post » |
