The local television station owned by NBC that covers the area including Newtown, Connecticut, will NOT be broadcasting Megyn Kelly's highly controversial interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

No good can come from interviewing Alex Jones.

That's what Nicole Hockley, the mother of a victim from the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, made clear when she asked NBC to pull Megyn Kelly's upcoming interview with the conspiracy theorist.

For those who don't know, the Infowars host's most controversial claim is that the harrowing 2012 school shooting — which claimed the lives of 26 people — never happened.

Well, the mother of 6-year-old victim Dylan Hockley, and co-founder of Sandy Hook Promise, understandably doesn't want Jones bringing his crackpot theories to a larger audience.

Hockley sent a letter to NBC News chairman Andrew Lack, urging him to cancel the broadcast of Kelly's interview with Jones. She wrote:

Megyn Kelly is getting a ton of heat for her upcoming interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

But it looks like Kelly can use all the press she can get — because based on her recent viewership, the former Fox News host has been a "ratings disaster" since moving to NBC!

The journalist's interview with Erin Andrews scored just 4.35 million viewers on Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, which was tanked by 60 Minutes' much healthier 7.66 million viewers in the same time slot.

While Kelly has only been at her new home for a few weeks, these lukewarm numbers apparently already have NBC panicking about the reporter's upcoming debut on the Today show.

A source told RadarOnline a poor daytime performance for Kelly threatens the entire back half of the Today lineup, explaining:
