On Tuesday, HFPA president Lorenzo Soria took to Instagram to express his strong support for Meryl Streep following her iconic anti-Donald Trump speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

As we previously reported, Ms. Streep caused shockwaves (both good and bad) when she slammed Trump for his bullying and overall horridness — it was undoubtedly the highlight from the evening!

Following the backlash from conservatives who called the actress out of touch, elitist, and MORE, Lorenzo felt it necessary to defend the Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient's honor.
