Mysterious Magician Donates $ to NO on H8te
Ready for a funny guessing game?
So, in the financial race to protect marriage equality and beef up the No On 8 campaign, celebrities have been pitching in left and right, answering a recent challenge to raise $500,000.
Here's a rundown:
-T. R. Knight threw down another $50,000, for a combined total of $100,000
- That matches Brad Pitt's $100,000 contribution
-Along with donation twinsie Steven Spielberg
-Fall Out Boy's $50,000 is nothing to sneeze at
-#24 and #39 on Out's 2008 Power 50 list, Suze Orman and Jon Stryker (respectively), gave a combined $210,000 - 200,000 of that from Stryker, who is not even a Golden State resident!
-And duh, of course we pitched in financially as well!
-Along with $2500 from a "Neil Harris" of West Hollywood, who identifies himself as a "self-employed prestidigitator"
A what?
Vocabulary time!
A prestidigitator is someone who engages in a sleight-of-hand, often by juggling or utilizing other magic.
So who could that be?
We have our suspicions.
In Neil Patrick Harris' Out cover issue and accompanying interview, he says,
"I'm a magician at heart, so smoke and mirrors is great. The idea of smoke and mirrors tends to suggest suppression and the idea that you don't want people to know about who you really are, but as an actor you kind of do want people to not know who you really are. I think it was nice to have a bit of a smoke screen in a way."
Hmmm!
