The economy has made life financially difficult …unless you're Oprah Winfrey!!!!!

In honor of Oprah's 55th birthday, she is hosting a 3-day party in Barcelona, Spain followed by a 10-day Mediterranean cruise for her 1700 employees and their families!

Winfrey is footing the bill for everything, including transportation, food and "special activities" totaling to $5,400 per person.

Amazeballs!!!!

The Harpo crew will travel from Barcelona to Italy, Turkey, Greece, and Malta on a Norwegian Gem liner booked specifically for the occasion.

Four years ago, the billionaire took her entire staff on an all expense paid trip to Hawaii.

We want to see her top this one!!!!!

For the week ending May 31, Judge Judy topped Oprah as the highest rated show in daytime!

Judge Judy even has the #1 show in syndication!!!!!

It was the first week following May sweeps but still very impressive!

Maybe people are sick of Oprah's guests offering medical advice!!

Everyone loves Judge Judy!!!

She's the Simon Cowell of the courtroom!!!!

Newsweek's cover story this week covers the claim that Oprah Winfrey is too free wielding with her "health" advice and she abuses her influence by offering ineffective and dangerous cures on her show.

The article sites several guests who have offered questionable advice, including Suzanne Somers, Jenny McCarthy, and Physician/author Christiane Northrup.

Well, Oprah has seen your article and she has something to say back: Shove it!

No, sorry, we said that. This was her reply:

"For 23 years, my show has presented thousands of topics that reflect the human experience, including doctors' medical advice and personal health stories that have prompted conversations between our audience members and their health care providers. I trust the viewers, and I know that they are smart and discerning enough to seek out medical opinions to determine what may be best for them."

In other words, idiots shouldn't watch her show. Only smart, intellectual housewives.

And we think 23 years of broadcasting speaks for itself. She can't be doing that much harm.

Oh how the mighty have fallen!

Forbes has released it's annual 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list and Oprah Winfrey has been kicked out of her cushy #1 spot by none other than Angelina Jolie.

The superstar beat the billionaire because of the media frenzy she had the past year: good will deeds, 2 1/2 hit movies (Salt isn't in theaters yet, but we assume it will be mind boggling) and of course, punching out some cute twins.

Her total net worth for the year was $27 million. She spent most of it on diapers and dresses for awards shows where she didn't win anything.

Meanwhile, though dropping to the #2 spot, Oprah Winfrey raked in much more moolah, $275 million to be exact. Damn! We'd come in 2nd any day for that kind of dough.

Rounding out the top five is our favorite Material Girl, Madonna at #3, followed by Beyonce, and finally Tiger Woods.

Angie's boy toy, Brad Pitt, came in at #9, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer snagged #26, and President Barack Obama debuts on the list at #49.

Hmm, that means there are 48 people more powerful than the President of our country.

Some time ago, the Peacock network had another person in mind for a prime time talk show slot besides Jay Leno: Oprah Winfrey!

Yes, the lady of daytime almost made it to late night.

But when NBC approached Winfrey about the opportunity, she turned them down, suggesting she might have considered it earlier in her career, but not now.

Smart move.

Housewives usually fall asleep early. She would have never stayed as big as she is (and we mean ratings-wise) if she had moved to prime time!

Before appearing on the cover of Vogue in 1998, the mag's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, "suggested" to Oprah Winfrey that she drop a few pounds!!

"It was a very gentle suggestion," Wintour tried to sugarcoat the advice during her 60 Minutes interview on Sunday. "I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight."

You don't say?!

Anna continued, "I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper!"

Did the Big O lose her shiz at the famously blunt editor-in-chief???

Hardly!

"She totally welcomed the idea, and she went on a very stringent diet. And it was one of our most successful covers ever," Wintour exposed.

Not surprising!

When the HBIC of Vogue tells you to jump, you ask how high!

Private jet-loving Oprah Winfrey has had a change of heart and apologized to author James Frey.

If you recall, momma O named his 2003 memoir A Million Little Pieces as one of her book club choices in 2005, which propelled his book to the bestseller list. But after some stories in the supposedly autobiographical book were discovered to have been exaggerated, Oprah had Frey back on her show to bash him publicly.

Many, including the book's publisher, believe Oprah did that due to the backlash she received from her fans for supporting a book that wasn't all true.

You don't say?!

A month after Oprah called him a liar, his publishers dropped him.

But, now, years later, Winfrey has finally apologized to Frey for publicly slamming him and his book.

Winfrey's rep has also confirmed that the talk show host called the author and offered him a mea culpa.

According to Frey, Oprah called him last fall to say "I felt I owe you an apology." She went on to explain her lashing came from a sense of feeling betrayed.

Frey added, "It was a nice surprise to hear from her, and I really appreciated the call and the sentiment."

Wonder what took O so long to apologize? And why even do it? And if she publicly bashed him, shouldn't she have publicly apologized?

Oprah Winfrey was asked to give the commencement address at the esteemed Duke University this past weekend. She was truly inspiring, especially when she talked about how lucky she is:

"It's great to have a nice home. It's great to have nice homes! It's great to have a nice home that just escaped the fire in Santa Barbara. It's great to have a private jet. Anyone that tells you that having your own private jet isn't great is lying to you."

Lesson to learn graduates: It's good to be Oprah and sucks to be everyone else!
