Oprah Gets The Gold!

oprah__opt1.jpg

No one could pull this off but her!

We told you earlier this week that Oprah Winfrey is trying to get every U.S. athlete that won a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics to appear on her show.

That is quite the undertaking, especially considering that many golds were won by teams - not individuals - and her show tapes in Chicago, not New York or L.A.

Well, she did it!

And, she wants YOU to be a part of it!

Momma O is taping her big O-lympic special next week and she's inviting everyone to come along.

Here is all the info:

"Oprah and the city of Chicago are inviting hundreds of Olympians to Chicago for a special show and YOU are invited.

That’s right! Come visit Oprah and some of the most amazing athletes live in Chicago.

Here are the details:

Place: Millennium Park

Time: The park opens at 6 am. Admission to the lawn will be first come first served basis.

Date: Wednesday, September 3"

We hope Michael Phelps can squeeze it in to his very busy schedule!

Oprah on Obama

oprah__opt1.jpg

So what did bug supporter Oprah Winfrey think of Barack Obama's acceptance speech last night????

"I cried my eyelashes off," she says. "I think it's the most powerful thing I have ever experienced."

The talks show queen called Obama's words "transcendent."

She adds, "He's not an African-American candidate. He's a candidate for Americans."

Yes we can!!!!!

Oprah's Going For Gold

wenn5155858.jpg

With the U.S. winning so many medals, the fight is on to see who can get some of that Olympic shine to rub off on them!

Oprah Winfrey sure's trying hard to capitalize off the success of the games.

Various reports are stating that Momma O is trying to get every U.S. gold medalist together for a single show, to possibly air on September 11th.

Overall, the US won 36 gold medals.

Agents for different medal winners confirmed that the show's producers had contacted them over the weekend about appearing on a special edition. And even the Olympians are confirming the news!

Ronda Rousey, the first American to ever win a medal in judo, confirmed the offer on her website this weekend, stating "I am going to be on Oprah September 11th on some Olympic medalists special."

But if Oprah manages to get everyone, they'll likely be more than 36 winners, as some of the medals were given in team sports. Such as the US basketball team, which won the gold medal, consists of 12 players.

However, a rep for Oprah said yesterday that the show "is not confirmed."

We're guessing some of the bigger stars from the Olympics might want to appear in their own special and not share the spotlight?

Let's see if the show makes it to air.

Either way, it's a good show of patriotism on the day we remember 9/11.

What a Douche

banks.jpg

If you have tickets to the Tyra Banks Show, you may want to reconsider going!

According to reports, Tyra Banks kept her show audience waiting last week for almost two hours for the show's "Celebrating Black Models, Past, Present and Future" episode while she hung backstage laughing, snacking and chatting with the crew.

An audience member said:
"You could hear her going on and on because she was standing right behind the stage curtain. She's talking and talking. Meanwhile, you have the entire audience waiting almost two hours for the taping to start."

When TyTy finally made it on to the stage, she didn't give the audience any explanations or show her appreciation for attendance.
"She leaves us waiting, and everyone is sitting there complaining, and then she comes out and doesn't say a word about it. She didn't even say hello, she got right into her script. She acted so cold towards everyone. She's a phony."

Another source reports that when addressing the guest models, "Tyra kept saying, 'When I was a model,' and would hardly let them talk. It was all about her, as usual."

For the show's ending, TyTy dragged the audience out into the street:
"Cops had it closed off, and Tyra had bodyguards. She had the audience prance down the street and then release black balloons. Some were whining that it was so bad for the environment. It was so disorganized, people fell over the press outside and almost trampled two little girls. Tyra was acting like it was a live sporting event instead of the most self-indulgent, narcissistic crap."

Ew.

Someone needs to tune-down the self-loving, bitchiness!

Keep dreaming, TyTy. You will never be Oprah.

Oprah's Going to Denver!

oprah.jpg

No surprise!

The Big O's mouthpiece confirmed on Thursday that Barack Obama's #1 supporter Oprah Winfrey will be in Denver when he accepts the party's nomination at the end of August.

O's BFF, Gayle King told Entertainment Tonight:

"Oprah has not been asked to introduce him, is not expecting to be asked to introduce him and I would doubt that she would want to introduce him. She thinks this is HIS moment…"

Oprah won't be lonely in Denver. Gayle's planning on broadcasting her Oprah and Friends XM Radio show from the convention starting August 25th.

More Oprahness

oprah3.jpg

The woman accused of abusing pupils at Oprah Winfrey's South African school for girls goes to trial today, Tuesday.

She’s expected to plead not guilty to charges of indecent assault, assault and criminal injury.

South African authorities say six teenage students and a fellow dormitory matron were abused by the woman over four months.

The six girls will give evidence in a session closed to the public.

The girls are said to be "very scared and very, very emotional."

The trial is expected to run through August 1.

Oprah, who was a victim of child abuse herself, has promised an overhaul of the school and has apologized to parents.

More Oprah Funny Business

otyler.jpg

One of Oprah's hometown papers, the Chicago Sun Times is denying reports that the talk show titan is dating writer/actor Tyler Perry.

Why????

DATING? PUH-LEEZE! A number of Oprah Winfrey insiders are most amused by the National Enquirer cover story that claims Oprah is ”cheating” on longtime main man Stedman Graham with filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry, whose sexual preference has long been a major question.

We bet Opes' BFF Gayle King got the biggest laugh!

One big ol' gay laughfest!

Oprah's The Biggest Loser

Magazine sales are down - way down.

Across the boards, people bought less mags at newsstands, but some titles are double DOUBLE DIGITS in the first half of the year.

Surprisingly, the mag that was hurt the most was Oprah's, followed closely by Anna Wintour's Teen Vogue and Vogue.

monthies-first-half-new.jpg

On the bright side, Vanity Fair saw an increase in their readership during the first half of the year.

Their newsstand sales are up by 5.8% thanks to that little slut!
