Can fabulous cheekbones and an insouciant attitude help sell perfume?
The peeps at Calvin Klein are banking on it as they've cast the broody Rooney Mara in their latest ad campaign for new scent Downtown.
The actress wears a leather jacket and leans back against a red-brick wall in the first released ad (above) shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
The fragrance itself, which boasts notes of Tunisian neroli, green pear and watery plum, will be available in stores nationwide in September.
Sounds YUMZ!
In addition to the ad campaign, Roons will star in a commercial for the perfume directed by David Fincher, who directed the actress in The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
That's a lot of talent in one commercial! It better be damn good!

Are you surprised to see Rooney Mara at a Calvin Klein event? Ha!
The actress bit back her smile while walking the black carpet at the IFP, Calvin Klein Collection, and Euphoria Calvin Klein Women in Film celebration at Cannes on Thursday night.
The VAST majority of Rooney's past looks have been either black or white, or, in some cases, both, but this time we got to see her change it up ever so slightly.
She went nude!
Roons chose a delicate slip of a dress by the designer for the event, styling it with t-strap heels and tight bun.
Though pretty and ethereal, it's also rather forgettable.
We hope she wears something a bit more exciting next time!

What the punk?! Rooney Mara isn't wearing black!
We can hardly believe our eyes!
The actress and co-chair along with Riccardo Tisci predictably wore Givenchy to the Met Gala, but her ruffled, lacy gown screams more bridal than punk.
Maybe if she'd taken a pocket knife and slashed it up a little, it'd be more hardcore.
As it stands now, it just makes us think of lace doilies.
Rooney's severely pulled back hairdo and purple lips had a punky vibe, but since she always has that same hair and makeup look, we're not sure if it was part of the theme or not.
Not loving it!

Is it too soon to call this Beyonce's best year ever???
Sure, it's only April, but she's already dominating in SO MANY WAYS!
And now the singer has been named an honorary chair at this year's Met Gala, which will take place on May 6!
Bey joins co-chairs Rooney Mara, Riccardo Tisci, Anna Wintour, and Lauren Santo Domingo, and may have some surprises in store for us, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
And we really hope she embraces this year's unorthodox punk theme.
Can you imagine the ultra glam Bey in a punk-y gown?! Now THAT should be very, very inneresting!
Let's fast forward through this month, shall we???

Interview magazine is really reelin' them in!
Heidi Klum joins Rooney Mara and Cameron Diaz as a March cover girl for the mag, snagging the front of the German issue.
The supermodel looks seksi and svelte in a face-print Jeremy Scott for Adidas swimsuit, previously worn by Rita Ora, and fishnet tights.
The 80s homage is complete with green and fuchsia eye makeup and big, bouncy waves.
We don't know about you, but we're getting some serious Olivia Newton-John vibes.
Let's get physical! Ha!

Rooney Mara shows off her gothic good looks on the cover of Interview magazine's March issue.
Wearing a black Calvin Klein bustier dress, the actress casts an electrifying gaze into the camera.
It's srsly hypnotizing if you stare at it too long!
For the inside black and white shots, Rooney wears a long checkered Marc Jacobs gown that matches the checkered floor she's standing on and a draped strapless Balenciaga dress, just to name a few.
We've said it before and we'll say it again–she'd make a PERFECT vampire.
Her agent should get in touch with the casting director at True Blood! Ha!
Check out the rest of the spread (below)!

Rooney Mara seems to be enjoying the promo tour for her new film.
This is the second time we've seen her smile on the red carpet in the span of one day!
It's like seeing a fabled mythical creature or something!
The dark-haired beauty wore Valentino Haute Couture to the Berlin premiere of Side Effects on Tuesday.
Featuring a square neckline and asymmetrical hem, the black lace frock made Rooney look like a gorgeous, spooky doll!
She does goth chic like no one else!
U like???
