As if we needed more proof that Tom Hanks is one of the nicest guys on the planet, here it is!
Way back in March, devoted fan Sarah Moretti, a young woman autism, got a chance to go backstage at his Broadway play Lucky Guy!
But she had NO idea she was actually going to get the chance to meet her favorite actor in the flesh!!
Tom proved to be an absolute class act as he hugged Sarah and gushed over the scrapbook she made containing news clippings and photos throughout his career!
He even joked!
"My mom doesn't have something like this!"
Awww! How sweet!
Tom went on to shower her with love and even signed everything she had to throw at him! Talk about a lucky girl!
Ch-ch-check out Tom further proving he's one of the nicest guys ever …AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Ah, the good old days!
Here's a Halloween story for the books!
Tom Hanks was getting nostalgic at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in London on Saturday evening.
The Captain Phillips star took a stroll down memory lane and recalled a time in the 90s when he and a couple of Hollywood hot shots took the streets of Georgetown by storm!
If you've been wondering how Matthew McConaughey actually lost all that weight for Dallas Buyers Club, but would rather get an anecdote about it instead of specifics, boy do we have a tale for you!
It was actually Tom Hanks that gave Matthew the advice on how to extremely slim down for the role!
Here's what Matthew said:
It's as if Zoltar, the magical fortune teller machine, granted our secret wish we didn't even know we wanted granted!
Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock recreated one of our favorite cinematic moments from one of Tom's films. No, Sandra didn't dress up like Wilson the volleyball!
The two hopped on a giant piano straight out of the movie Big, and gave a leg-splitting rendition of Chopsticks on The Jonathan Ross Show!
Ch-ch-check out Tom and Sandra defying some Gravity with their musical feet (ABOVE)!!!
Tom Hanks's Type 2 diabetes reveal was surprising to say the least — he's always been in pretty decent shape, and Type 2 usually hits those who are at an unhealthy weight!
While the news came as a shock, his Type 2 is extremely manageable! He's using diet and exercise to control it, and it sounds like he won't be very different at all when it comes to his everyday life and career.
Except one thing we didn't even realize: he can't
Tom Hanks was joined by his wife, Rita Wilson, at the premiere of his new film, Captain Phillips, during the opening night of the BFI London Film Festival on Wednesday.
Despite revealing his recent diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes on Tuesday, Tom looked handsome as ever in his black tux!
Rita, on the other hand, brought the big bang in her black Tom Ford gown that was accented with an explosive sequin design on the hip!
Together, the happy couple made perfect complements for each other, even with their contrasting styles of traditional and modern.
Don't you just love how that works out???

All kidding aside, it's a bummer to hear from Tom Hanks that he has type-2 diabetes, which in most cases is pretty avoidable. What's strange is that he's always been in decent shape, and type-2 usually hits those who are not!
That's not the only strange thing, either — apparently he's been experiencing symptoms for TWENTY YEARS. Twenty years, and he has just recently been officially diagnosed!
The 57-year-old we all wish was a father figure in our lives (and star of the upcoming modern pirate movie Captain Phillips) admitted to having the common form of diabetes in an interview with David Letterman. He's not alone in Hollywood, either: Halle Berry, Patti Labelle, Drew Carey and Chaka Khan all have it too.
He also spoke about how his doctor broke the news to him:
