Simon Cowell To Make Over $100 Million A Year To Stay On Idol????

wenn-simcowell213.jpg

He'll never have to work again!

Simon Cowell is known to be a very rich man, reportedly making a figure close to $36 million to work on Idol this past year. However, it is possible he will make somewhere near three times as much this after the 2010 season.

Say WHAT?!

Cowell is being offered between $100 million and $144 million per year by co-producers Fox and 19 Entertainment to stay with Idol once his contract expires next May.

That's just redunkulous!

All that money so he can parade around in shirts that don't fit him and yell at Paula Abdul.

He's got it made!

SVU Stays Intact

svuwenn__opt1.jpg

We mentioned earlier this month that the stars of Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, were in negotiations to return to the show and collect a hefty paycheck for doing so.

Well, now we can confirm it!

Hooray! We actually couldn't care less, but for you fans, we rejoice.

Sources suggest that the crime fighting duo negotiated their contracts together and have both inked a contract for one more year, with an option for a second year. That will take them into 12 seasons of the show!

We didn't realize there were that many ways to solve a murder!

Their renewed contracts may explain some of the cut backs in programming on the network: Hargitay and Meloni are said to have boosted their most recent salaries of about $385,000 an episode as well as negotiated a piece of the SVUs back end, a lucrative business involved merchandise and DVDs.

If the math is done correctly, they each stand to make well over $400,000 an episode, making Mariska Hargitay the highest-paid woman on television.

Hope they intend to spread that ca$h around.

VH1 Adds Some Flava Pep To Line-Up

tlcpepa23.jpg

No, no. No more Flava Flav… We hope.

But the network that gave that cracked out nutbag his own hour of TV is doing the same for two well-deserved female hip-hop artists.

VH1 is giving Sandra "Pepa" Denton of Salt n Pepa and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas from TLC each their own reality shows. Both are schedule to premiere in 2010 and have orders in for eight half-hour episodes.

Though separate shows, both will follow each woman in search of love and romance, as most VH1 shows tend to do.

Clearly, the net execs realized they were neglecting a certain demographic with Jessica Simpson's new freakshow reality show The Price Of Beauty.

Will U watch any of VH1's new lineup?

Daytime Drama!

Hater!

One Life To Live star Patricia Mauceri has been fired from her recurring role as Carlotta Vega due to her reservations about appearing in a gay storyline.

You're an actress, sweetie. You do what you're told!

Patricia objected to a small role in which her character would have a positive attitude regarding the show's relationship between Kyle (Brett Claywell) and Fish (Scott Evans) because it conflicted with her personal beliefs.

Why couldn't she "act" like she was okay with it?!

Saundra Santiago has taken over the role of Carlotta, a gay friendly Latina mother.

What a self-righteous idiot!

Rival Network Launches Project LENO

wenn-jjayleno.jpg

It seems one of the major networks thinks they are secret agents as they are devising a plan to obliterate the competition in the fall 10 P.M. slot opposite NBC'S new Jay Leno show.

They are calling the operation…Project LENO.

Um, guess the guy who names the missions was having a brain fart that day.

Anyway, CBS has joined forces with its affiliates to launch an aggressive LENO, or "Late prime Enhanced News Opportunity" marketing plan.

CBS marketing chief George Schweitzer understands the importance and power of this time slot, as it is usually the lead in to their late news, so the network is forging ahead with a strong marketing power-play. Execs have decided to bombard our lives with promotion including "sponsorable broadcast spots, Web banners and radio spots, as well as behind-the-scenes vignettes."

As Schweitzer says: "We've always been supportive of the 10-to-11 relationship with our stations, but it's time to be even more aggressive here."

The shows getting this start treatment will be CSI: Miami, The Good Wife, CSI: NY, The Mentalist and Numbers.

Gotta get those old people eyeballs on their network. Good thinking!

Do U think this plan will attract viewership away from Leno?

Kate + Bikini!

pack062509a_042.jpg

It's just time to admit it to herself.

Kate Gosselin is loving the attention!!!!!!!!

The mother of eight with the failed marriage is always complaining about the paparazzi following her and even snapping pictures of her at home.

So leave it to Kate to walk around in nothing but a small blue bikini while outside her house earlier today to greet some friends as they drove in.

Thank goodness she had that tummy tuck, right?

But, we'll give her credit, she is starting to look pretty toned. Spending lots of time away from her kids in the gym is really paying off!

Guess she's trying to get back in shape to enter the dating world? Or maybe just make Jon a lil' jealous?

Conan O'Brien Is Losing The Ratings Game!

con-lett-wenn-getty__opt1.jpg

Conan O'Brien is in trouble!

In last week's ratings, The Late Show drew more viewers than The Tonight Show. This is the first time since 2005 that The Late Show has outperformed The Tonight Show with an average of 3.5 million viewers and a 0.8 rating to 3.3 million and a 1.3 rating.

When it comes to splitting up the demographics (and their purchasing potential to advertisers), Conan pulled in more viewers at a 1.3 rating with a 6 share, beating out Late Show with a 0.8/3.

So maybe Conan is all right for now. After all, money talks!

True Blood Is A True Hit

true_blood_season2__opt1.jpg

Last week we mentioned that the second season premiere of True Blood was the highest rated program for the premium cable network since the finale of The Sopranos.

Over 3.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere, which caused the ratings to go up 157% from the first season's premiere. Shall they thank the Twilight fans for that?

And it seems the show's DVD sales are doing pretty good as well!

In fact, True Blood: The Complete First Season DVD has sold over 1 million copies!

The disc set was released four weeks ago and has already made $35 million in total sales.

It also took the top number one spot for TV DVD sales last week, followed by a far second place with Weeds selling 334,000 copies.

So tell us, why do U watch True Blood?
