More than 20 years ago, Sir Elton John founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation in hopes of thwarting the terrible disease, and the organization has grown quite a lot over the past couple of decades!
On October 15th, the EJAF will be hosting its 12th annual An Enduring Vision benefit at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, and it has a very impressive guest list!
The former Secretary of State will be given the Founder's Award for her moving speech in Geneva, where she famously said "gay rights are human rights and human rights are gay rights," and she's also being recognized for her efforts to reach the goal of living in an AIDS free world!
It's so great to see Elton John's organization taking on such an important issue and making sure it doesn't simply get swept under the rug!
Hopefully events like these will continue to raise awareness and get even more people talking about how we can beat AIDS, once and for all!

If you're a prostitute, you might as well be happy doing it, right?
According to Brazil's health ministry, which has removed a website proclaiming "I am happy being a prostitute" — NOPE!
The message was good, too: if you can't do away with prostitution, you might as well try and reduce the AIDS-related stigma suffered by prostitutes in an effort to encourage them to get treated for sexually-transmitted infections.
Critics slammed it for promoting prostitution
AIDS is a serious illness, as we all know, and if what this former lover of Liberace's is saying is true… well, it would be one of biggest letdowns of character we've ever experienced!
Though, it IS highly suspect that this info would come out so close to the new movie Behind the Candelabra!
Scott Throson was a former lover of Liberace's, and he claims that the legendary entertainer (played by Michael Douglas in the movie) was aware he had AIDS when he infected at least three of his young sex partners.
Here's what he said:
As a philanthropist and AIDs activist, Alicia Keys has been using her Grammy award-winning talent and fame to do some real good in the world. She even co-founded "Keep a Child Alive," an organization that has raised millions to care for HIV/AIDS patients in Africa and India!
Here's what she has to say about the disease here at home:
Prince Harry is all about doing good these days, and we couldn't be happier to see him do it.
Just the other day we were talking about how he's taken the reigns in Princess Diana's land mine clearing charity — and now we're hearing that he has also mentioned her while talking about another project, which hopes to raise £2.5 million to build the Mamohato Centre, which will provide psychological care and peer mentoring for children and young people with HIV/AIDS.
Can you think of anything else that could ever be more important?
Here's some of what Prince Harry has said:
Yesss! This is wonderful!
Alicia Keys just put together the new public information campaign, EMPOWERED to teach women about HIV/AIDS, and she couldn't have done anything better.
The movement is set to be released on the National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which is March 10 and will use public service ads to get in contact with communities.
With about 280,000 people in the US living with HIV, the singer wanted to reach out to women because the female race is the majority of individuals living with the virus.
