How sad!

Pat Summerall was a legendary NFL announcer for many decades, but he died today of cardiac arrest.

After playing as a pro himself for nearly a decade, Pat joined the CBS broadcast team in 1964 and quickly became a legend!

He most famously worked for years in tandem with John Madden — the iconic pair called many memorable football games together!

In a statement, John said:

"Pat was my broadcasting partner for a long time, but more than that he was my friend for all of these years. Pat Summerall is the voice of football and always will be."

When CBS covered the AT&T National, which Tiger Woods won, they had 171% more viewers than last year's final-round coverage!

Last year, Tiger didn't play, so we're guessing no one tuned in.

What's golf without Tiger Woods?

There could be some problems with the ratings numbers though.

There have been some serious storms on the East Coast and that had delayed the reporting of some numbers.

Reglardless, if there's anyone in golf who can draw media attention… it'd be Tiger.
