Australia Reopens "Dingo Ate My Baby" Case

dingo-ate-my-baby.jpg

Australia has opened the fourth inquest into the over 30 year old "a dingo ate my baby" case.

If you're unfamiliar with the story, back in 1980, while camping in the outback, a 9-week-old baby disappeared.

Her parents said a dingo grabbed her and ran off during the night.

Azaria Chamberlain, the baby, was never found and her mother was eventually convicted then cleared of her murder.

The biggest question that still remains today… was it actually a dingo attack?

A lawyer assisting the coroner on the case said:

"Although it [a dingo killing a child] may have been regarded as unlikely in 1980… it shouldn't be by 2011-12.

With the additional evidence in my submission, your honor should accept on the balance of probabilities that the dingo theory is the correct one."

It's amazing that this case has basically been unsolved for several decades.

Lindy Chamberlain, Azaria's mother said:

"It gives me hope this time that Australians will finally be warned and realize that dingoes are a dangerous animal.

I also hope that this will give a final finding which closes the inquest into my daughter's death, which so far has been standing open and unfinished."

Let's hope this inquest is the last one and once and for all closes the case so the family can finally have some peace.

Monkeys Cover Their Eyes When They Wanna Be Alone

OMGEZZ! Goawaaaay!!

Mandrills the biggest member of the monkey family and apparently the most easily annoyed.

Experts have noticed when the monkeys want to be left alone they cover their eyes with there hands.

Apparently it's a gesture that has never been seen before, and experts believe it is evidence of social culture among animals. They believe one of the mandrills made up the gesture, made it cool, and passed it on to her pals. (kinda like saying "that's what she said.")

Evolutionary biologist Mark E. Laidre says they don't do it to block the sun cause their eyes remain open.

I just seems like a matter of time before they start flipping us off!

Sarah Silverman Gets Serious About Animal Abuse

Sarah Silverman Get Serious About Animal Abuse

The HIGHlarious Sarah Silverman spends most her time making us laugh, but today gurlfriend is not joking around!!

The comedian has sent a deadly serious letter on PETA's behalf to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) calling on the government to remove four ailing elephants— including a fellow Sara —from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

In the letter, Silverman explains that recent veterinary evidence shows that the elephants are being forced to perform grueling tricks despite suffering from lameness and, in two cases, arthritis—the number one reason for euthanasia in captive elephants.

Sarah, a longtime vegetarian, joins other celebrities including Demi Moore, Kyra Sedgwick, Darren Aronofsky, and Olivia Munn, who have teamed up with PETA to protest Ringling Bros.

Get It Polly! Dancing Bird Shocks Scientists

Work you body feathers right!

Snowball, the dancing cockatoo is forcing scientists to re-evaluate their opinion on bird intelligence.

His dancing antics have made him an youtubes superstar while scientists are hailing his moves as proof that humans aren't the only creatures with a sense of rhythm.

Using scientific measurements of synchronisation, they proved that the musical beats and dancing were linked up.

They studied each video frame by frame, comparing the speed of the music and the movements of the creatures.

Suspect videos - where the music appeared to have been added afterwards - were ignored, as were videos where an animal could have been following movements offscreen.

From more than 1,000 videos, they found evidence that 14 species of parrot and one species of elephant can move in time to music.

Chimpanzees, dogs and cats appeared to have no sense of rhythm.

HA!

DNA Test To Confirm Existence Of Bigfoot

bigfoot

Maybe?

Cali Bigfoot investigators were shocked over Memorial Day weekend when they found strange markings and hair on their pickup truck windows.

Now, they're hoping DNA tests will prove once and for all the existence of the legendary man-bear-pig man-beast.

"On the passenger side window, when I first saw it, I almost threw up,"

said the weak stomached Jeffrey Gonzalez, an AT&T electronics technician and founder of the Sanger Paranormal Society.

Gonzalez and several others were in California's Sierra National Forest searching for evidence to confirm the reality of the creature. When it started to snow at their campsite, they were forced to leave two of their vehicles behind.

Science: Dogs Can Read Your Mind

Science: Dogs Can Read Your Mind

Think your dog totally gets you? Well you're totally right!

A recent Learning & Behavior study indicates that canines may have an innate ability to read humans mental and emotional status!

This idea of "canine telepathy" has been suggested before–often, pet owners comment on how their dog seems to know what they're thinking.

Researchers from the University of Florida found that the animals may be born with the ability to perceive and react to human emotion.

They found that the wolves were "sensitive to human attentional state under some conditions." That evidence suggests, for the first time, that dogs are born with the capacity to read minds, so to speak.

The findings did indicate, however, that increased exposure to humans (as in the case of domestic dogs) improves a dog's ability to sense attentiveness.

So.. watch how much you think about cats!
