Is Sugar Really That Bad For You??

sugar-sweetener-fake-good__opt.jpg

It seems that no matter what we eat, something is slowly killing us according to some new study.

Know what we've noticed recently?

Science is attacking sugar! The building blocks of basically all food!

They've gone as far as to say it's a poison that is literally killing this nation.

Dr. David Katz, director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center, said:

"We actually need sugar; it's our body's preferred fuel. But we eat too damn much of it."

So it's naturally occurring sugars (like in fruit, some veggies, milk, etc.) that is good for us.

It's all the added sugar that's bad.

But what about artificial sweeteners??

QuickFit Tip Of The Day

Pink

If hydrogenated oil of any kind is listed in a product’s ingredients, unfortunately it contains trans fat. As long as it’s less than .5 grams, the FDA lets manufacturers leave it unmarked.

The FDA is currently investigating the link between Monster Energy drinks and five deaths this past year.

The whole investigation started when the mother of a 14-year-old girl who died after drinking Monster filed a lawsuit.

The girl apparently drank two large cans of Monster and died from "cardiac arrhythmia due to caffeine toxicity."

Monster claims it's not their fault, saying:

For-Profit Food Inspectors Allowing Toxic Food??

Filed under: Icky Icky PooBusiness BlitzFoodScary!

toxic-food-inspectors-profit-sickness-illness

This is SO scary, and we don't know how these privatized food inspectors can live with themselves: there is a growing number of severe failures in oversight in food inspection, causing millions of Americans to fall sick… all for money.

The problem is that the food industry has taken over much of the FDA’s role in ensuring that what Americans eat is safe — for instance, in 2011, the FDA inspected ONLY 6 percent of domestic food producers and just 0.4 percent of importers!

The food industry is hiring for-profit companies who aren’t required by law to meet any federal standards and have no government supervision.

Once-A-Day HIV Treatment Pill Gets FDA Approval!

Stribild Approved FDA HIV

This is good news for those out there that have HIV but struggle with taking all the medications to keep it in check.

The FDA has just approved a new pill, taken once a day, that combines two previously approved drugs plus two new ones.

It's called Stribild, and it provides a complete treatment regimen for HIV infection. It's supposed to be available by the end of the week!

The only problem is that it costs more than the other treatments, which is kind of bullshizz. Gilead, the creator of the drug, is charging wholesalers $28,500 a year for the drug, though apparently it will provide discounts to state assistance programs and has created a patient financial-assistance program.

This is not much more effective than the multi-pill regimen, but only having to take one pill instead of many is the main draw.

It's too bad about the price, though!
