Earlier this week, Michelle Obama and her hubs President Barack Obama paid a visit to Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque in Indonesia.

The first lady stayed true to her style by wearing a pale green suit by Harlem designer Stephen Burrows and a leopard print head scarf with turquoise fringe.

And in case you're wondering why she's not wearing any shoes, Mrs. O took them off as a sign of respect.

Banned! Women Can't Wear Tight Clothes In Indonesia!

ap10052718618_e.jpg

And we thought a baggy pants ban was bad!

Women in Indonesia will no longer be allowed to wear tight pants or revealing clothing as the city of Aceh passed a law to ban the body hugging garments.

Following the ban, authorities in the Islamic city have handed out 20,000 long skirts for women to wear in order to enforce the regulation for the next two months while the law is implemented.

Ramli Mansur, head of the West Aceh district explained the details of the law, saying "The rule applies only to Muslim residents in West Aceh. We don't enforce it for non-Muslims, but are asking them to respect us."

So what happens if someone's caught violating the law?

No one really knows! The law only states "moral sanctions" will be imposed on violators. However, if a woman is caught violating the law 3 times, she could be put in jail for up to 2 weeks.

Ridiculous!

What's also inneresting is that the majority of Indonesia is against the dress restrictions. Too bad their voice isn't being heard!

Thoughts???
