New Jersey Moves Even Closer To Banning Tanning Minors

tannign-bed-girl-nj-ban.jpg

We previously mentioned that New Jersey was taking steps to prevent minors from using tanning booths.

The Assembly's Women and Children Committee passed the measure by a 5-0 vote, banning anyone under the age of 18 from using tanning beds.

Then the motion went to the full Assembly and was approved 58-7!

So now it heads to the Senate for consideration.

If it passes, parents will have to give written consent for kids 14-17 to get even a spray tan!

That may be a bit extreme but at least all of this is a step in the right direction.

One more round until people like Tanning Mom can no longer put their children in harm's way.

George Clooney Films Violence In Sudan And Testifies In Front Of The Senate

Filed under: PolitikBarack ObamaGeorge ClooneySad SadCharity

This is heart breaking.

We know you're all still riding high on Kony 2012, but if you learned anything from that massively successful viral campaign, you know that there are MORE international war criminals and they ALL deserve to be punished.

George Clooney took a trip to Sudan's Nuba Mountains last week where people have left their home and are living in caves thanks to Omar al-Bashir's constant attacks on their villages along the volatile boarder of Sudan and South Sudan. While visiting with cameras, the actor witnessed

Senate Rejects Conservative Birth Control Amendment To Obama's Healthcare Law

Thank the Lord! Common sense has prevailed!

The senate has rejected a Republican proposal to exempt Catholic affiliated employers from being required to offer employees insurance coverage for women's contraceptives, like the birth control pill.

The debate over birth control and what was titled the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act is far from over, however. Expect to see this issue be blown out of proportion and utilized during the upcoming presidential election by conservatives.

The main reason this bill was not passed was not,

Tennesse Senator Makes OUTRAGEOUS Remarks Defending "Don't Say Gay" Bill

tennessee-senator-outbase-in-outrageous-remarks-web.jpg

This guy is WAAY off base!

Tennessee GOP Senator Stacey Campfield recently tried to explain his rationale on his lobbying of the Don't Say Gay Bill.

Stacey also tried to explain bullying, AIDS, "homosexual glorification" (WTF?!) in completely ludicrous and fantasical fashion.

On bullying and gay teen suicide:

The senator believes that bullying is the "biggest lark out there."

He thinks that children can be pushed into being gay because they are impressionable. He claims that gay teens who commit suicide are "sexually confused," "find it hard on themselves" and "they don't know how to get back from that"

On why only hetereosexuality should be discussed in schools:

Campbell states the following:

I just think there are situations where some kids maybe sexually unsecure [sic] in themselves or sexually confused and don't necessarily know clearly what direction they are. If someone, a person of influence, says maybe you're gay, maybe you should explore those things — maybe the child, who is young and impressionable, says maybe I am gay.

[Homosexuals] do not naturally reproduce. It has not been proven that it is nature. It happens in nature, but so does beastiality That does not make it right or something we should be teaching in school.

What does any of that have to do with homosexuality?! And comparing it to beastiality?!

UGH!

On homosexual "glorification:"

Stacey claims that homosexuals represent 2 to 3 percent of the population but homosexuals are overrepresented in television and theater. He claims that 50% of theater productions are based on something homosexual.

Wow…

On AIDS

This is by far the most appalling.

The senator claims that most people accept the fact that HIV and AIDS came the homosexual community and someone (a pilot in his mind) had sex with a monkey.

He also says AIDS is virtually impossible to contract from vaginal sex!!!

Well, he's right. You contract HIV. Not AIDS.

And finally he states that the lifespan of a gay male is "very short" and says everyone should "Google it."

Scientific studies from highly touted specialist Jacques Pepin states that the first simian to human virus contact was initiated from a hunter getting blood in an open cut. HIV spread in Africa due to unprotected vaginal sex and the majority of HIV stricken people around the world are hetereosexual.

There are beyond so many things wrong these arguments!!!

It makes us sick!

Keep fighting Tennessee youths. Be proud of who you are!

Giffords Won't Return To Congress Until She's Better

We're so overwhelmed by the inspiration that is Gabrielle Giffords, and how the presence she has even this soon after the shooting during her first long-form interview.

She might struggle with words still, but she still gets her point across.

One of them being that she won't return to congress until she's better, by saying:
