Sexting More Popular With Teens

sexting

Teens may be having more sex than ever before… on their smart phones!

A new study from the University of Texas examined sexting trends among 14 to 16-year-olds, and the numbers are pretty surprising:

Nearly a third of students had engaged in some form of sexting. 25% had sent a naked picture!

Seems like pretty safe sex to us. So what's the problem?

Well, if a teen who is under the age of consent sends a nude pic of himself, even to another teen, he could go to jail for distributing child pornography! And you better believe that goes on your permanent record!

So def talk to your kids and get to know what they're doing. But more importantly, make sure THEY know what they're doing.

Six months after his sexting scandal, the wife of disgraced politician Anthony Weiner gave birth to a baby boy.

Weighing just over 7 lbs., Jordan Zane Weiner arrived on Wednesday, 10 days before his Dec. 31 due date. He's the first child for Weiner and wife Huma Abedin.

It was revealed that Abedin was preggers back in June when Weiner's weiner was splashed across social media sites everywhere, causing a major scandal. After first denying that he was sending lewd photos of himself to women through texting and over Twitter, he later admitted it, which resulted in him entering treatment and resigning from his job as New York congressman.

Guess this is a whole new chapter in your life, Weiner. Hope you've grown up.

Congrats to the new mom and dad.

Teen sexting has become a problem over the past couple of years, but studies show that the amount of sexts and/or images that kids are sending has lowered over the years.

Only 2.5% of kids aged 10 to 17 admit to sexting, and or creating or appearing in explicit photos or videos. Even fewer produce images that are considered pornoography.

A researcher at the Crimes Against Children Research Center said:
