h7n9 bird flu worse detected china taiwain virus scary

Remember how the first bird flu, H1N1 (and most recently, H5N1, which caused 300+ deaths over a few years), caused fear and panic… but ended up being basically just a scare that withered away?

Well H7N9 should be feared. It's H1N1's dick of an older brother — the stronger, more volatile older brother! It's one of the most lethal viruses that doctors and medical investigators had faced in recent years, with a death toll already at 22, and the first case has popped up outside of China!

Nelson Mandela May Have Pneumonia!

nelson-mandela-pneumonia-lung-infection.jpg

Nelson Mandela is currently being treated for a lung infection, which is basically pneumonia.

South African officials said that Mandela's infection is "recurring."

He is 94-years-old and at that age, it's very easy for fluid to build up in the lungs.

The cough response is decreased in the elderly, making it easy to breathe in some saliva and just have it sit in your lungs, growing bacteria.

Over 1,000 West Nile Virus Cases In U.S.!!!

mosquitp-sucking-on-blood-west-nile.jpg

The CDC has recently released information that there's been an alarming increase in the number of West Nile virus cases this year!

There have been over 1,100 reported cases of the virus, with half of them coming from Texas.

We actually kinda forgot about the West Nile virus since it's out of the news.

It's a good reminder that we should really be taking precautions to help keep us safe from mosquitos, like wearing long clothes at night or using a bug repellant.

West Nile usually causes infection, can cause the West Nile Fever, and, rarely, can cause swelling of the brain!

So it's still a serious virus, that is very prevalent and can cause some real problems.

Stay away from 'squitos!
