The heat wave blasting through California almost turned tragic Saturday.

When teen mom Arely Amaya went for a quick trip to the store, her two small children were little more than an afterthought.

The mother left the 1-year-old and 2-week-old in their carseats with the windows up for over 20 minutes. At NOON!

In Florida, a young mother was killed when a tornado hit her home.

The 32-year-old was found about 200 feet from her mobile home, clutching her 3-year-old daughter.

Her daughter was alive, still in her dead mother's arms.

Yesterday, Jack Osbourne became a daddy! His Fiancé, Lisa Stelly, squeezed out Sharon Osbourne's first grandchild, a girl named Pearl!

The littlest Osbourne was due over a week ago, but her famous fam was willing to work around her schedule.

Granny Sharon proudly announced to Twitter followers:

"Today I witnessed my first grandchild being born, life changing experience. She is an angel."

An angel?? Must be all the crosses they have around their house! :)

It's crazy to think that we've seen Jack grow from a wittle preteen on his reality show, to a daddy!

Wonder how long it will be before MTV gives Pearl her own reality show?? LOL!

This is absolutely terrible.

We cannot even begin to imagine the terror these children felt and the fear of all the families and the extreme sadness of the ultimate loss of that one student.

In Cardon, Ohio in the cafeteria of Chardon High School around 7:30am right as the day was getting started, a student walked in and began firing a gun at a table of students.

Four students were injured and taken to the hospital, one student, Daniel Parmertor, was killed.

His family said:

"We are shocked by this senseless tragedy. Danny was a bright young boy who had a bright future ahead of him.

The family is torn by this loss. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

One of the students who witnessed the shooting said:

"My friends were crawling on the floor, and one of my friends was bent over the table, and he was shot.

It was almost like a firecracker went off. I turned around and saw [T.J.] standing with a gun, and I saw him take a shot."

He then ran from the cafeteria, outside of the building, hid and called the police.

Another student in the building said:

"All of a sudden, one of the administrators got on the announcements and yelled, 'Lockdown!'

All of a sudden, all the doors started slamming. You could hear them slam. And we all turned of the lights, and we headed towards the corner."

When police arrived on the scene they eventually found the suspect, who had apparently been chased out of the school by a teacher.

SWAT teams guarded the school, letting parents in a few at a time to pick up their frightened children.

This is so sad.

The students who were shot and their families are in our hearts and thoughts.
