Bruce and Clarence were clearly truly great friends.
Last month, we were very sad to report that E Street Band member/legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons had passed away at the age of 69 following a massive stroke.
Yesterday, as a tribute to Clarence, Bruce Springsteen performed a 45 minute set during the Tribute to the Late, Great Clarence Clemons event, which took place at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ.
Bruce performed alongside J.T. Bowen, who was the lead singer of The Red Bank Rockers, which was Clarence’s band in the ’80s.
Sounds like it was a wonderful night! We’re so happy to hear that Bruce and others who were close to Clarence had the opportunity to pay tribute to the man in such a meaningful, heartfelt way.
Our thoughts continue to go out to Clarence Clemons’ loving family, friends, and band mates.
