Much like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Hurricane Sandy ensured that an audience wouldn’t be available for last night’s broadcast of Late Show with David Letterman. Still, the show must could go on, and indeed it did, even without a single soul to entertain in the studio.
Instead of running through his opening monologue, however, he simply sat at his desk and told Paul Shaffer what his jokes would have been had there been people to laugh at them.
A different approach from Fallon, but still amusing.
