Congratulations are in order for Pamela Anderson!
She’s just been named PETA’s Person of the Year of 2010.
The actress was given the title after she helped to draw attention to animal rights issues by speaking to students at Oxford University, posing for pictures with her body painted in butcher markings, filming anti-fur commercials, and calling on Indian leaders to ban the country’s “unspeakably cruel” trade in leather.
She’s also adopted stray dogs from animal shelters and and has spent years working tirelessly to raise awareness on several other animal rights issues.
“For years, Anderson has been penning letters and posing in ads for PETA U.K.’s American affiliate in order to raise awareness of cruelty to animals and demonstrate how easy it is to avoid contributing to animal suffering,” said a PETA spokeswoman.
We applaud Pam’s work with PETA and her efforts to help stop animal cruelty! Keep it up, bb.
